Vampires are some of the most popular horror creatures, spanning multiple cultures, and, while they thrive in the film medium—saga and all—they don't get much representation in video games. The upcoming 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 is such an exciting prospect.
For one, it's a sequel to Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines of 2004, a game that aged like fine wine thanks to introducing RPG mechanics tha🍒t are ahead of its time. Sadly, the sequel has no release date in sight just yet, though it'll probably dop sometime in 2020. That's why, to keep one's bloodlust 💮sated, trying out these 10 good video games that feature vampires ought to fill in that hunger.
10 Darkwatch
As cliche as it sounds, this is a game about a vampire who chose to be a vampire hunter. Darkwatch's brooding Jericho Cross is not , but it captur🌳es the essence. It's set in the wild west during the late 1800s and follows Cross' exploits as a member of the Darkwatch, an elite group of vampire hunters.
Darkwatch is also a first-person shooter that oddly feels like Halo except it's supernatural and is set in a different genre. Getting a hold of this game, however, might be more difficu🌳lt, as it's old and was only available for t🌃he PlayStation 2 and the original Xbox.
9 🐼 Castlevania: Lords of Shadow
Castlevania initially started off as an iconic NES title and has enjoyed the comfort of its handheld and console throne. It wasn't until 2010 that 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Castlevania moved out of its comfort zone by introducing Lords of Shadow. It's a fully 3D ꦬaction-adventure game with a AAA budget and effort.
It foll🧔ows the story of Alucard and Dracula starting from the trag🦩ic lineage of the Belmonts, a clan of vampire hunters. Needless to say, it was a successful venture for the franchise, and it even spawned a sequel.
8 🤡 Legacy Of Kain ♏
An even older vampire game than Darkwatch would be Legacy of Kain a♐nd its sequels. These games were cult classics back at the end of the 20th century during the end of the originꦏal PlayStation era.
They did remain popular to this day, and some fans are even clamoring for belated sequels/reboots. The most popular protagonist of this fr𝔍anchise is Raziel, a human who died and got resurrected as a soul-stealing vampire.
7 ꧑ Bloodrayne
Speaking of legacy vampire games, Bloodrayne is also one o𝔉f the stronger titles in the genre. It trades the usual brooding male vampire antihero🐻 for a sultry and deadly vampire vixen named Rayne.
She has an affinity for tight leather and latex suits and also hates fascists. Bloodrayne's storyline, in that regard, is more gr🤡ounded in modern history as it takes p෴lace around the same time a certain explosive political party was brewing in Germany.
6 ༺ 𒀰 The Sims 4: Vampires
Any Sims games with a vampire expansion or DLC will do, but for better graphical fidelity and a more modern feel, one can't go wrong with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Sims 4. As is a tradition for t🐽he simulation titles, a vampire expansion pack was introduced.
This added old and new vampire characters, as well as a new game locale. Moreover, it also lets players turn their sims into vampires or create new vampire sims with their own unique traits and interactivity. Funnily enough, they're more fragile than the regular human sꦕims.
5 𓆏 The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Dawguard
It turns out that Skyrim not only belongs to the Nords, but also to the vampires. They're been inhabiting that frigid region of Tamriel longer than most Nord Jarls have been ruling. Players do get the chance to disturb their slumber in the Dawnguard expansion of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
You can either join the Dawnguard vampire hunter faction or succumb to the l⛄ure of immortality by becoming a vampire your🐓self. Either way, you also get a vampire companion in the form of Serana, one of the most powerful allies in the game.
4 ൩ Total War: Warhammer Series ꧑
This might sound like an unconventional suggestion, but the Warhammer Fantasy universe is actually full of interesting factions and one of those is the Vampire Counts. They're also featured well in both Total War: Warhammer games.
No other vampire game will let you control an army of ghouls, vampire monstrosities, and undead since the Total War Warhammer games let you take control of a vampire lord who's also a powerful necromancer. Just when players think they've seen it all, Total War: Warhammer 2 introduces vampirౠe pirates as a faction, because why not?
3 Dark
Strangely enough, most vampire video games showcase gameplay that caters to ꩵthe more megalomaniacal nature of vampires, when one of the most interesting ways to play as🐼 a vampire is by being a creature of the night. That means hiding in the shadows and stalking prey.
Luckily, that's what Dark introduces to the vampire genre. It's a stealth-action game where players get to be a young vampire who's not powerful enough to toy with i🍸ts food. It's a refreshing take on the fictional trope and the game is not that bad.
2 Vampyr
The moral dilemma attached to being a vampire is often unexplored in gaming, but that's what Vampyr builds its whole structure and plot around. It lets players take controlℱ of a formerly human doctor who gets turnedﷺ into a vampire.
As an undead hellspawn, he must then decide whether to treat 🥀humans as snacks or as vital members of society. Either decision results in consequences that reverberate throughout the game, making for one of the most human interpretations of these inhuman beings.
1 Other Vampire: The🧔 Masquerade Games 💜
Really, there's no better game to play while you wait for Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 than its predecessor. Most of its bugs and issues have been fixed over the years, and the writing and creative spark⛎ of the title hꦰolds well to this day.
Another recommended title would be Vampire: The Masquerade Redemption, which fundamentally has different gameplay and is older, though its still worth looking into. Hopefully, these games satiate your thirst for blood until Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2 comes out of the sarcophagus.
