Activision Blizzard has moved developer of its business. The studio was previously responsibඣle for the popular 💞Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 remake but has now been reassigned to existing Blizzard initiatives.
It's a curious move, and one that has fans of the🔯 studio worried for the future of its popular franchises.
"After collaborating with Vicarious Visions for some time and developing a great relationship, Blizzard realized there was an opportunity for [Vicarious Visions] to provide long-term support," said a representative from the company. Unfortunately, that's all that's mentioned in the announcement. There🧜's no indication as to what the team is now working on, or when we'll know more about the studio's new position.
Jen Oneal, former studio head of Vicarious Visions, will now be an Executive Vice President of Dev🐼elopm✱ent at Blizzard. Oneal will report directly to J. Allen Brack, President of Blizzard.
Vicarious Visions was responsible for much more than the wildly successful Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2. The studio also worked on the rebooted Crash Bandicoot franchise, Skylanders, and dozens of other hit titles throughout the years. This new shift in responsibility still carries a lot of unknowns, and we're curious to see what its talented roster of 200+ employee🐭s cooks up next.
