Terrorist groups, rog🐈ue paramilitary organizations, and your average gangster would be causing a lot of problem🐬s if this future played out in real life.

Half-Life 2 portrays a bleak future where mankind lost a war against alien invaders in the space of seven hours. In this future humans would live under the thumb of a totalitarian regime w༺ith world leaders in bed with the alien overlords.
But at least you’d be relatively safe in the civilized Cities. Everywhere else it’s a barren wasteland of radioactive fallout, feral aliens, headcrab zombies, antlions, and other dangers that would make life outside a City nearly impossible. Combine this with the meddling of the G-Man, threats in dꦫimensions yet to be discovered, and you have a future everyone is glad didn’t come to pass.

While this future would be awful, it is eꩲncouraging to know that a pair of soldiers could fix everything with basic weaponry, though it raises the question why everything went to hell if this is all it takes.

What’s terrifying about the future portrayed in this game is that everything is entirely plausible. Nothing is so far out of realism to be absurd and the Call of Duty franchise has been known to predict global conflicts before. One moment in time is 2019 in Japan. Here we see a future much more aಌdvanced then 2019 actually was. For instance the police force was predicted to have an amazing budget if they can afford flying cars and wield hi-tech handguns that humanity is still using 300 years later.
1 Freedom Fighters 🐻
Freedom Fighters depicted a scenario that many people thought was possible back in the Cold War. Thanks to a more favorable outcome in World War 2, Soviet Russia is a major powerhouse and ജlaunches a major of🌊fensive on United States' soil, specifically New York City.
Thankfully this never happened, but the game did give players a taste of the horrors that would come if a hostile foreign power was ever able to gain a footho✤ld in the US . Here’s to hoping that’s something citizens of the US never have to experience.
