Video game stories are getting better the more the industry  evolves with technology. Face capture along with full motion 🍒capture has drastically changed the ways games are made and in turn changed𓆉 the way creators get to tell their stories. They are becoming more complex and in turn more realistic.

A title like The Last of Us is a good example of a game that is hard not to get entangled in. Then, there are those stories, both new and old, that are entertaining, but crazy. It’s these stories that can seemingly only be told in a video game format, making this industry u✨nique. Let’s try and get a grasp of th💞e oddest ones out there.

10 🐻 Kingdom Hearts

KINGDOM HEARTS Ⅲ gameplay screenshot

Even though the first Kingdom Hearts was a huge crossover RPG with multiple properties involved, it mostly made sense. The further the series went on, the crazier things got. This might be in part due to their being so many spinoffs since ev💎ery platform for almost a decade seemingly demanded their own🌞 game that was canon. Even the phone game is canon. From doppelgängers to time travel, this story is nuts.

9 🎃 Final Fantasy XIII

There are a lot of complicated stories in this franchise. The most recent of which, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy VII Remake, is a great example that shares a lot in common with Kingdom Hearts. However, to this day 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy XIII remains the hardest to penetrate. Keeping track of who and what a l'Cie and fal'Cie are is exhausting. Not only that but the characters are melodramatic and almost unlikable. Furthermore the sequeꦇls made this story even crazier with Lightning becoming a god and yes, time travel.

8 🦄 Metal Gear Solid

While there isn’t technically time travel involved, there is manipulation of the timeline. That is to say there are ꧋games that went back and forth between the present and past.

Not only that but this series too is ripe with doppelgängers, 🐼fakes deaths, and powers that are never quite explained. On top of that the dialogue can drag on and can sometimes feel like the game is trying to put players in a trance.

7 ꦅ Death Stranding 💝

Another Hideo Kojima joint is Deꦡath Stranding. To quote Dean from The Venture Bros., “I dare you to make less sense.” That is more or 🎉less the challenge fans seemed to have imposed on Kojima as he made his next move. Between this game and Metal Gear Solid, the latter series is like Sesame Street. Part of the problem with this game’s story is that nothing is explained or at least is explained poorly from the reason why the world was destroyed to the BBs sensing ghosts or whatever they are.

6 Destiny

Destiny has gotten better over time. That is to say Bungie has course corrected what was a laughable launch. The first game had a lot of the story stored on🃏 lore cards one had to view via an app. Any game that demands players to read a secondary source in order to grasp the basic premise of their story is a failure. A lot of the names in the story were lacking like they were placeholders like The Traveler and The Darkness.

5 Deadly Premonition 𝓰

Deadly Premonition 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:and its sequel are infamously bad games. That is to say they are a horror to play. The reason why they are cult hits tho๊ugh is because of the characters. The way Agent York behaves is nonsensical but entertaining nonetheless. He’s like the Nicolas Cage of video games. If this ever becomes a movie, Hollywood, cast that man.

4 🐬 Bloodborne 🧔

Bloodborne, and the other Souls like series of games, have deep rich lore. It’s hard to decipher though sort oౠf like the beginning of Destiny as it requires a lot of digging. Bloodborne is perhaps the most dense as it is a standalone product without any backing from sequels to help flesh it out. Plus it borrows a lot from Lovecraft so that sho✅uld be enough of a clue on how crazed this story really is.

3 🎃 ⭕ Assassin’s Creed

Assassin's Creed 2 gameplay screenshot

Assassin’s Creed could have been a simple franchise that followed multiple protagonists with one theme: Assassins versus Templars. Instead, a Matrix like diving system was used to tie it back to the present. The first few titles with Desmond had a thread that was easy enough to follow. After he left the whole thing became almost indeciphera♕ble like the writers constantly ꦿturned their scripts the night before launch.

2 Gears Of Wa🗹r

Gears of War is another series that should have been easy to follow. At its core it rea🤪lly is. It’s about humans shooting aliens called Locusts.

However, eventually that bro shooter mentality was tossed aside in favor of a plot🍸 with intrigue. What if the Locusts were human and what if a main character was one of them? That’s a general summary in the guise of a question. It’🍨s more nuanced than that but complicated all the same.

1 Beyond: Two Souls ▨

Beyond Two Souls gameplay screenshot

This game was hard to follow on purpose. At least that is seemingly the case because the director rearranꦉged the timeline. Players will experience the game wildly out of order of events, without said events really explained in how they relate to one another. It was the artsy thing to do but it hurt the game. Even playing it chronologically shows that there were some plot holes involved.
