In both real life and in video games, there ar💯e few laws as irrefutable as the laws of physics. They keep our feet on the ground, our space where it needs to be, our elements independent of one another, and so on. But, while the laws of physics rank high on the authority scale, there is one rule that always trumps them: the rule of cool.

There are many weapons throughout gaming, that brazenly spit in the face of all we know of physical limitations in the name of doing really, really cool things. Whether they're impossibly light despite their size and composition or make a mockery of Euclidean geometry, all that matters is that these weapons can put on a show for all to enjoy.

10 𒊎 Lt. Col. Kilgore - Bayonetta 🅰

Bayonetta wielding all four guns of Lt. Col. Kilgore.

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Bayonetta's weapon of choice is a quartet of derringer pistols attached to her legs and wielded in her hands. While this is rather wild in itself, it would at least be perfectly possible for someone to fight like that with a little practice, balance, and strength. But what if those four humble pistols were super-sized into rocket launchers? Well, then you'd get Lt. Col. Kilgore.

This quartet of rocket launchers is longer than Bayonetta's legs, and if they're anything like real rocket launchers, they're unbelievably heavy. In spite of that, Bayonetta can walk around with them on like it's no big deal, as well as swing around the ones in her hands like simple tonfa. That's not even mentioning their magically-infinite supply of rocket ammo.

9 💫 Torgue Guns - Borderlands Series

Torgue advertisement from Borderlands

If there's one thing Mr. Torgue and his company prioritizes above all else, it's explosives. This is why 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:every single gun released in the Torgue line launches explosives and only explosives. No matter how impossibly heavy or volatile that should make some of thes🍷e weapons, they all still comfortably fit in the hand of the🦋 average consumer.

If you can believe it, though, it can get even wilder. Through the lens of Tiny Tina's imagination in her Bunkers and Badasses campaign, Torgue weapons launch swords instead of explosives. Swords that, incidentally, explode into more swords. It's Bunker Master shenanigans, don't think too hard about it.

8 Eleme💃ntal Staff - Dead Rising 3 ඣ

Nick wielding the Elemental Staff in Dead Rising 3

It pretty much goes without saying that the vast majority of the Combo Weapons throughout the 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Dead Rising series are physics-lite. A sledgehammer tapped to a car battery shouldn't be able to make lightning bolts, a pair of chainsaws taped to a boat paddle should be impossible to lift, and so on. However, there is one particularly egregious violation of physics in Dead Rising 3: the Elemental Staff.

This weapon, cobbled together from a street stoplight and a fistful of volatile chemicals, can emanate fire, lightning, and liquid nitrogen depending on the light that's currently lit. There are no obvious containers for these chemicals, and a stoplight should be impossible to lift with one hand, but yet here we are. There's no magic at play, either. Nick is apparently just that good of a mechanic.

7 K. Rool's Blunderbuss - Donkey Kong Country 2

King K. Rool fires his blunderbuss in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

King K. Rool (or Kaptain K. Rool as the case may be) is known for his tinkering prowess, having assembled a variety of weapons in his pursuits to antagonize 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Donkey Kong. One of the most deceptively dangerous gizmos he ever built was his blunderbuss. It may look l⛎ike a simple, wood-stocked firearm at a glance, but this rifle has an entire array of functions hidden within.

K. Rool's blunderbuss can launch out a variety of different ammunition types, all of which are noticeably too large to have come out of the barrel. Not only that, but the gun works in reverse as well, sucking foes in before violently launching them away. K. Rool really ought to start an electronics company or something, since he's apparently a genius at compartmentalizing.

6 Anvill🍌ain - Enter T༺he Gungeon

The Marine fires the Anvillain in Enter the Gungeon

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Enter the Gungeon is absolutely lousy with 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:physics-defying weaponry. After all, just about anything even vaguely gun-shaped becomes a firearm within the Gungeon's confines, so it makes sense that things get a little fast and loose down there. Even among those weapons, though, some are just downright mysteries. Take the Anvillain, for example.

This weapon isn't even an actual weapon, but merely a wooden crate full of anvils. To fire it, you just pop the crate open and let an anvil fly out. When the "clip" is empty, just give the crate a firm shake, and it's full of anvils again. A crate full of infinite anvils is all kinds of wrong when it comes to physics; just ask Wile E. Coyote.

5 Gun🌳blade - Final Fantasy 8

Squall wielding his Gunblade in Final Fantasy 8

If you were expecting any 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Final Fantasy weapon on this list, it was probably Cloud's Buster Sword, right? Indeed, that weapon is quite inexplicable, given it's effectively a giant slab of sharpened metal, but Cloud's Mako-enhanced strength makes it a little less silly. But you know what's almost as big and debatably even sillier? Squall's Gunblade.

RELATED: 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Games With Physics Mechanics

Not only is the standard-issue Gunblade gigantic, but its design makes no sense. The handle of a revolver only works as a grip because it's balanced with the rest of the weapon. The Gunblade's handle is too large, and the trigger is too far from it. If you tried to stick your finger in there, the whole thing would just flip over and cut you open. In spite of that, Squall can wield it just fine - one-handed even - as either a sword or a gun.

4 Jack's Chainsaw - Madworld

MadWorld Screenshot of Jack Cayman standing victorious over a fallen foe, brandishing his chainsaw threateningly

There are quite a few big question marks hovering over Madworld's, er, world, but Jack's arm might be one of the biggest. Putting aside how he even got such a thing, his 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:signature retracting chainsaw is a blatant violation of Euclidean geometry.

For a weapon like that to be retractable, it would need a sheath of exactly the same length and size, yet the blade is as long, if not longer, than Jack's arm. Despite that, when it's retracted, he can move and flex his arm with no problem. It doesn't seem to be segmented or collapsible either; the whole thing just... pops right out of there at a moment's notice.

3 🍌 Kalina Ann - Devil May Cry

Lady holding Kalina Ann in Devil May Cry 5

Kalina Ann is the signature weapon of Dante's devil hunter compatriot, Lady, named after her late mother. It's an absolutely gigantic rocket launcher with a seemingly inexhaustible supply of rockets, grenades, and other hidden tricks like a grappling hook.

Now, it's one thing for Dante to wield this massive weapon. With his demonic abilities, its weight and ammo aren't anything to worry about. But strangely, it's just as powerful in Lady's mortal human hands. Despite her lack of demonic magic, not only does Kalina Ann never seem to run out of ammo, but Lady can swing it around with the kind of speed and finesse you'd usually see Dante wielding Rebellion with. Let no one say Lady skips arm day.

2 Black Hole🃏 Launcher - Saints Row 4

The Boss launching a black hole in Saints Row 4

Throughout the known cosmos, there are fewer instances of physics-based terror as dangerous as a black hole. Just one of those things can completely collapse all matter around it with its infinitely dense gravity. If a black hole ever appeared on Earth, we'd probably all die.

Luckily, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Saints Row 4 takes place in a mere simulation of Earth where the laws of physics are more flexible. Thanks to Kinzie's meddling, the Boss can launch black holes that completely decimate foes and vehicles before safely dissipating. The fact that the simulation doesn't immediately collapse from that kind of density is a testament to its strong coding.

1 𒉰 Kaboomerang - Ty The Tasmanian Tiger 🍌

The Kaboomerang's reveal in Ty the Tasmanian Tiger

168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Ty the Tasmanian Tiger is known for his skill in handling a pair of boomerangs. No matter how far they fly or what kind of volatile element they're made of, they always faithfully return to his waiting hands. Of course, most of his boomerangs are still intact after he throws them. The same can't be said for the Kaboomerangs.

These cross-shaped monsters are made of a rare, volatile material found only in the Outback. When the two touch, they immediately spark off into a powerful, rock-blasting explosion. You'd think this would destroy the 'rangs, or at the very least damage them, but even after that, they pop right back into Ty's hands, good as new.
