168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Visions of Mana likes to guide you. Almost every side quest in the game will tell you almost precisely where to go, while you have a guiding light you can summon to bring you towards the next main objective. That degree of handholding is what makes its superboss s♍o much more exciting.
Visions of Mana has some genuinely enticing combat with actual deep customisation, and the superboss will put all of that ﷽to the test (as well as your time). However, actually finding the superboss in the first place might be a tad harder than you'd expect.
Where To Find The Superboss
Unlike most things in the game, nothing actually leads you towards the superboss in Visions of Mana. Though it is located quite near a mandatory location, it's entirely possible you'll just walk past it, thinking it is not𓆉hing out of the ordinary.
Right by the end of the game, when you're in the distorted version of Mt. Gala, the same old windmill is there. While you might not think to even go near it, this is actually where the superboss is located. Except when you approach it, you're told that you can't enter right now, try again later.
This is because you can't enter until you've finished the story and are in the Chapter Ten post-game section. At this point, you can return to the windmill at any time. When you come back here in the post-game, it will make a new fast travel point called Ruins Entrance.
Preparing For Black Rabite
Party Composition
The Black Rabite is a recurring superboss in the Mana series, and this is generously their lowest level as a boss across the series, at 'only' Level 80. This is also the highest level enemy i🗹n Visions of Mana so they are designed to push𒅌 you to your very limits.
Considering the massive variety you can achieve through classes, any party composition can work though these are the members we managed to defeat Black Rabite with:
- Val, with a Custom Class combining Rune Knight, Edelfrei, and Berserker.
- Careena, with a Custom Class combining Dancer, Starlancer, and Maverick.
- Morley, with a Custom Class combining Nomad, Nightblade, and Sovereign.
We were at Level 81 while battling them, only one level above the superboss. There is no time limit or story point that blocks you from going back to challenge the Black Rabite, so feel free to return to battle them at a level that feels more suitable for you. Even a single level can make a major diff♕erence.
If you plan to do some grinding, make sure to get the Cactus Smarts EXP-boosting effects from Li'l Cactus firs🍨t to speed your levelling up signifi🅠cantly.
As always, bring as many healing items as you can, you'll need them. Make sure to set up your Ring Menu with them as well so you're not relyinꦚg on weaker items as well.
Recommended Skills
Before even getting into battling Black Rabite though, you'll need the right skills. Stats alone won't get you through this battle, you'll need some tactics.
For us, we tried to manually issue commands to party members either by controlling them directly or through the Ring Menu. With the precise timing you will need, you don't want to rely on the AI even if you have set up a custom strategy.
Here are the skills we re🐭commend f🔯or each character:
- Val - Any Elemental Saber. Black Rabite has no elemental weaknesses, though it will increase Val's attack damage anyway.
- Careena - Lucid Barrier to temporarily negate physical damage, Enfeeble and Defenseless to weaken Black Rabite, and Healing Light to keep the party alive.
- Morley - Dark Barrier to negate damage from magical attacks for a brief period. Silver Dart is also useful against the summoned Demons as well.
Keep in mind that Lucid Barrier and Dark Barrier are mutually exclusive. ꦏChoose which to use based on Black Ra🅰bite's current moves.
The Abilities and Seeds are doing the heavy lifting during this battle, though Lucid and Dark Barrier are essentials to actually surviving Black Rabite's attacks. Of course, make ౠsure that you have the strongest armour and weapons for each of your used characters in adva🤪nce of the battle as well.
Without 𝓡further adꦑo, let's get into the battle itself.
Battling Black Rabite
First Phase
When the battle starts, Black Rabite will alternate between a relatively simple but very powerful set of moves. Their moves are exclusively physical or magical, making it෴ much easier to know at a🍎ny given moment what type of damage they will be dealing.
Here's their list of strengths, because they don't have any weaknesses:
Damage Type |
Resistance |
---|---|
Slash |
Normal |
Strike |
Normal |
Wind |
Resistant |
Moon |
Immune |
Water |
Resistant |
Fire |
Resistant |
Earth |
Resistant |
Wood |
Immune |
Light |
Immune |
Darkness |
Immune |
That's a lot of strengths! Because of these specific immunities, Black rabite cannot be linked with the Lumina Lantern nor can they be slowed with the Luna Globe. You have to fight them exactly as they are.
In their first phase, Black Rabite's most powerful move has them centre themselves in the middle of the arena and summon a large vortex beneath them and three smaller dark orbs around the arena. This is an immensely powerful attack that can wipe out your party from full HP. The move will activate once the♌ vortex reaches the borders of the arena.
You can reduce the power of the attack by destroying the orbs, making the attack weaker with each one destroyed. We used Morley's Dark Barrier on the part🐻y during this attack, negating the dama💛ge entirely.
You can also activate a Class Strike durinꦉg this period to immediately end the attack.
Other attacks to look out for are the pillars of darkness. These are warned by a red circle on the ground and spread outwards from Black Rabite while circling around. They will also move back inwards as well, so 🌞don't think you're safe just because they've🌊 gone past you.
Their physical attacks are much simpler, being a series of bites that are easy to become stun-locked in, and a large drop attack that strikes in a wide area.
Second Phase
Black Rabite transitions seamlessly between phases, incorporating new attacks as th💮eir hea✤lth gets lower without any warning.
The first of these new attacks is the ability to fire off a series of Moon attacks that explode around the arena, covering it in areas akin to the Luna Globe that slow you down if you enter them. Avoiding them can be hard, though trying to jump above them is typically the safᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚest method.
The other is the ability to summon Demons. These aren't the strongest enemies, especially if your builds are suitably powerful, though they can become an easy distraction 🐟if you don't deal with them quickly.
Once approximately a quarter of Black Rabite's HP is remaining (the health will align with the 'C' in their name), they will split into three smaller Black Rabites. Each of these sm♋aller Black Rabites will still be just as powerful as their larger counterpart, though they will tend to still to just a single strategy.
During this period, the main health bar of Black Rabite will not deplete. It will begin de🦋pleting as normal once Black Rabite combines again.
We recommend focusing on just a single of this trio at a time. They still have a very large health bar each, and dividing your attention runs the risk of all three ganging up on you. Take it one at a time to reduce their pool of attacks. Once all three are defeated, the original Black Rabite wi🉐ll reappear.
Once they've recombined, Black Rabite does not gain any new abilities. They will retain all of their abilities from 🍰their Second Phase, th꧋ough will attack and alternate between them slightly more quickly than before.
Your reward for defeating the fearsome Black Rabite will be the immense satisfaction of their defeat, as well as the Mana Guidance Ability Seed, which will restore the entire party's HP after each battle. With that, you have conquered the most difficult challenge Visions of Mana has to offer. Unless you want to battle them on Expert difficulty. Congratulations!
