If you're now looking for somewhere else to pre-order a physical copy of The Thousand-Year Door with only a week to go until release day, despite Nintendo's want to not sell pre-orders through Walmart and Amazon, they are still available from Best Buy and GameStop through the links above. There are a couple of theories as to why Nintendo is doing this. One is that Nintendo is fed up with scalpers buying up stock of games and this is how it plans to counter it. While that will certainly work, if it is the case, a little planning and communication would be nice. Another theory is Nintendo has underestimated how many people want these games and it doesn't have enough stock of Thousand-Year Door and Luigi's Mansion 2 to fill pre-order demand.
