Blizzard has scheduled a livestream event for the upcoming World of Warcraft expansion Shadowlands June 9th. The stream will be simulcast on Twitch and Youtube and will be hosted by Executive Producer John Hight and Game Director Ion Hazzikostas. Fans can expect to see development updates on the expansion, but the announcement is rather short on ✨details about what players will get to see.
The closed Alpha for Shadowlands began last month and gave select players a first look at Torghast, the new rogue-like endless dungeon game mode, as well as the ability to explore one of 5 new zones coming in Shadowlands called Bastion.
Shadowlands was first revealed at Blizzcon 2019 in a cinematic that featured ex-Warchief Sylvanas Windrunner challenge and defeat the Lich King, Bolvar Fordragon. Instead of wearing the Lich King's Ice Crown, Sylvanas instead♕ destroys it, creating a tear in reality that will bring players to the land of the dead, the Shadowlands.
Yesterday, Blizzard announced the Blizzcon 2020 has been cancelled as expected. It's a huge blow for fans that have come to anticipate the convention each year, but Blizzard has promised to try to bring the experience online in 2020 as much as possible. With the Shadowlands reveal stream and possibly some connection to Summer Games Fest, it seem Blizzard is doing what they can to keep the Shadowlands hype train rolling.
