Is There A Catch-Up Mechanic For Challenges/Acts?

Yes. Whenever you complete most of your weekly Acts, a previous week's Acts will become available—provided there's a previous set of Acts you missed. Theoretically, you could wait until the end of the Nightwave and complete hundreds of Acts to reach rank 30. However, some of the Acts are quite time-intensive and are tough to complete in a short timeframe.

How Long Does A Nightwave Season Last?

It varies. Major Nightwave releases or "series" are meant to last around 3 months, and intermissions are meant to last around 1 month.
