Games Workshop has announced an all-new app for their tabletop wargame, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Warhammer 40,000.
The new Warhammer 40,000 App is set to release within the next few weeks, right about the time of the new 🎀9th Edition launch. Apps are all the rage now for tabletop games so it should come as no surprise. What may, is the new optional subscription service. Fans have often bawled at the already expensive hobby, so any move to wrestle money from their mitts will be met with cynicism. But in an ever-i🃏ncreasing digital world, it is the logical next step.
The upcoming app will feature two access levels, a free tier, and a paid subscriber tier. Unlike many of the established gaming companies, GW has taken a bold move by becoming one of the first to offer digital access to sup♒plement material when a physical copy is bought. This will apply to all supplements and codexes moving forward and will be delivered through the use of one-time codes. Access, rightly so, is not hidden behind a paywall and is part of the free offering. This is something D&D players have been asking for for years and are still waiting for! To round out the free offering, players wiౠll also be able to access the core rules.
That begs the question😼, what's left for subscribers then? First, players will be able to lookup rule information from within the app across all supplements. It will include point values, Relics, Stratagems, datasheets, etc. We assume this will be limited to the content the player has paid for, Next will be tools to construct Battle-forged army lists of any size, from small Combat Patrols to the larger Onslaught armies. Finally, GW has made all 8th Edition codexes in print available and as long as they remain valid. It does, unfortunately, mean that they will be removed once an updated codex is released.
All in all, we are excited for the new app, and it will be interesting to see how it develops over time. The subscription may be hard to swallow for some especially after the 8th Edition codexes are removed. For longevity's sake, more tools will have to be added to create more immersive experiences. This could be subscriber-only campaigns or game music and effects to simulate combat. Users interested in gaining access at launch can sign up for a My Warhammer account now to get updates for when the app releases. A monthly subscriptio♚n for the app is £3.99, no word on pricing outside of the UK.
