The Blood Angels are an army of jack-of-all-trades units. Just about every unit is a deadly nuke capable of eradicating hordes of enemies and going toe-to-toe with your bigger gribblies. Tha❀t doesn’t mean Blood Angels are better - it means Tyranids are more specialised.
Specialisation leads to limitations when those niche circumstances aren't presente💮d to you, but also to huge swings when you m♈anage to land the perfect hit against the perfect target. This has a number of ramifications across the game, but most importantly, in army composition.
Tyranids are a scalpel in the shape of a hammer. You have the weight of numbers to punch holes, but you need to use your numbers to pressure the right points to break through. Naturally, this leads to a bunch of interesting list-building opportunities, and Tyranids have enough diversity to really take a crack at hyper specialisation if they really wanted to focus on one aspect of the✃ battle.
9 Don’t Throw🌳 Away Your Throw Away Units
This is a big one. Your throw-away✃ units, such as Termagants, are incredibly valuable and shouldn’t be thrown away. At leasꩵt, not immediately, and not without reason. Termagants, Gargoyles, and Hormagaunts are all versatile units that can drastically change the course of the game - they just need to be alive to do it.
In an objective-based game, you need these units to grab objectives and score points. Because they move pretty quickly, they are ideal candidates for getting there early. Because they🏅 are cheap, you don’t really care if 🔴they die in the process, and finally, you have plenty of them.
When it comes to scrapping with the boys in red, they make for perfect screens and scouts. You don’t want a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:unit of Hellblasters unloading into your Hive Tyrant during Overwatch - what you want is enemies unloading hell on you✤r little guys. This keeps your punch healthy, and frankly, your swarm kicking. Don’t forget, attacks meant to kill💎 big monsters are rarely tailored to handle big groups.

Screening and objectives are all well and good, but you need vision if you want to ⛎utilise your army effectively. Again, Termagant, Hormagaunts, and Gargoyles are ideal scouts because you shouldn’t really care about them - providing they are doing something productive.
Units like the Exocrine need visuals on targets if you want to lob out some artillery, so running up to scouts to draw a bead can lead to some early damage that would otherwise not be possible. Scouting also let𒁃s you keep an eye on any potential flanking maneuvers, enemy position, and enemy army composition. All of this information is worth more than the lives of some ♍lowly grubs.
7 You Are Squ🌠ishy And You Don’t Heal
Unlike the Blood Angels, Tyranids do not have access to easy healing. Where a Dread🧔nought can be repaired by a Techmarine and a unit of Aggressors topped up by an Apothecary - Tyranids just suck it up.
Tyranids - for the most part - aren’t all that tanky either. They have some tanky units, but point-for-point, the Blood Angels are going to rock thicker armour and can h🌸eal from damage quicker. You may resemble bloꩵodthirsty, flesh-eating insects, but you must play with caution. Every point of damage will stay until the game ends or your dude dies.
Every move you make as a Tyranid player needs to be thought out and planned, and with knowledge of the permanent risks. These are c💟onsiderations your opponent may not even factor in. Again, you are a scalpel that looks like a hammer - with teeth and claws.
6 The Value Of Jack ꦓOf All Trades Units
The Tyranids don’t have many units that could be considered a jack-of-all-trades, however, the ones they have are incredibly valuable. The most obvious example would be the humble Warrior. These guys are medium-sized infantry, have aꦚ decent healt🅺h pool and armour rating, and can dominate combat at multiple ranges. They can even buff units in a pinch.
Having units that just work - regardless o🌌f the situation - is extremely valuable in an army that is so specialised. It doesn’t matter what you want to do, a Jack-of-all-trades can do it. Want something to hold the line and buff your chaff? Warriors can do it. Want something to escort a flanking detachment? Warriors are the unit for the job. Want something that can punch a hole through enemy lines? Warriors.
5 🍷 The Distraction Carniℱfex
This is a tactic that first came to popular use during the early days of the tabletop game. The Distraction Carnifex is a unit that yo🍌ur opponent knows is dangerous, and that you know they can’t ignore. You then throw that unit directly at them with gleeful abandon and little care for its long-term survivability.
Why would you willingly sacrifice such a valuable unit? Well, to keep the rest of your army aliv💮e. If you have a barebones Tyrannofex on the board, or a Thornback as a distraction, your Exocrines, Warriors, Hive Tyrant, and so on can operate without taking a face full of bolter rounds. It’s undeniably wasteful when it comes to points, but the tactical advantage a gambit like this provides can be game-winning.
4 Hi❀t-And-Run ✃
One area Tyranids truly excel at is hit-and-run warfare. Blood Angels can dabble in it, sure, but their most effective unit for it is the humble Land Speeder. As good as it is, it doesn’t compare to your Xenos equivalent. Of course, we're talking about the winged Hive Tyrant. Kitted out with some mighty guns, this monster can be everywhere you need it to be, unload all kinds of dakka, and then retreat o💯ut of sight without ease.
One issue Blood Angels have in general is that their characters are pretty easy to assassinate. They excel at buffing things but struggle to do much outside of that. The Hive Tyrant, on the other hand, is hard to kill because you can’t catch it. Heck, even the things that can, can’t kill it. Like with many tactics 💛the Tyranids employ, there is an air of the cerebral involved.
3 💝Don’t Forget Buffs and Deb🌜uffs
It doesn’t matter what faction you pl🌸ay, buffs can drastically increase the value of a unit - normally at the expense of another unit's actions. One of the more awkward issues in Battlesector i♌s the fairly obtuse cover system that works under the hood. One of the best ways to get around it is to have good accuracy. Throw a buff on a unit and go to town.
Some units have access to debuffs too. Venomthropes, for example, can pollute the earth and cause all kinds of nasty status ailments to wrack your enemies. The Hive Tyrant༒ can poison its target, leading to bonus damage over time. Throwing out some synaptic goodness can turn a horde of underwhelming Termagants into brutal killers.
2 🐼 Don’t Rush ꦏ
It might be tempting to perform a zerg-rush the enemy turn one and try to eke out a sneaky win, but honestly, this doesn’t work. Heck, even moving their full movement d🍌istance in one turn is a pretty risky plan.
In Battlese🍒ctor you want to treat each movement tile like its own individual tactical nugget. Moving one space at a time, especially when scouting, lets you react to the fog of war rolling back. If you rush straight to your maximum, you risk running into Overwatch or being out of position and countered next turn.
This method applies even when the battle fully erupts. Moving one step to the right may increase💃 your accuracy, whereas moving two might actually decrease it. Every step opens up new opportunities, and rushing will only limit what you can do each turn.

Overwatch should always be a considerꦡation. It doesn’t matter if you are setting up a firing lane, or if you aꦕre moving around the open field, you need to constantly be aware it exists.
If you don&rs♐quo;t Overwatch effectively, the enemy cꦇan easily move around your lines and land flanks. This can be devastating if they get a bead on one of your powerful support or damage pieces.
You also don’t want to walk into fire all willy nilly. This has been covered before, but the fact it’s being mentioned again should show just how important it is to factor in. At no point do you want your incredibly expensive Hive Ty𒁏rant getting hit by multiple volleys from a stack of Hellblasters. That coul♍d quite easily end the game then and there.
