Coming into the game fresh, it is a lot of fun to play a match as each of the rather motley crew of individuals. Figuring out what you're bad at is almost as fun as figuring out your favorite class. Either way, a fair share of missions will have an unfortunate ending until you really find your niche.

Yes, it does do a lot of damage, but if you don't keep an eye on that heat meter, then you're going to have a pretty rough time. There are, thankfully, ways to get around a rather explosive death thanks to various ways to vent heat and your trusty sidearm and melee. It just takes a while to get the hang of it.

Darktide is a rough game to start out with. It's not quite Soulsborne-level difficult, but it isn't exactly a walk in the park, either.
You will die. Your whole team will, at some point, and missions will fail. But that's okay. It wouldn't be Warhammer if missions all went according to plan. It's worth remembering that you aren't playing a superhero; you're the last remaining survivors trying to fight back the best you can. That's what makes it a fun time.

Each rocket-propelled shell is topped with an explosive warhead that doesn't kill the enemy as much as just blow them to bits. The gore and graphics of Darktide really shine when this gun comes out, and it's easy to see why when people think of 40k they think of the bolter.
4 🌠 Stꦏruggle Against The Daemonhost

Speaking of crowds, sometimes, despite your best efforts, you'll find yourself overrun and outnumbered, and this is inevitable.
The best thing you can do at this point is try to find a weak spot in the horde and communicate with your teammates so you don't have to get revived. If that isn't an option, there is something heroic about taking out as many as you can before they take you down.

One of the somewhat overlooked portions of the game is character customization. Whether you want to play as a purple-eyed Cadian looking for revenge for your planet, or aไ veteran Ogryn who has survived battle after battle, you can do so. There is something so rewarding about making a reject just as gruesome as the world you find yourself in.
