Games Workshop recently announced an upcoming season two edition of their beloved alternate Warhammer Fantasy universe setting fantasy football game Blood Bowl. The announcement ꦺalso gave us a brief glimps📖e at the brand new human team ready to play this season. The game is currently scheduled for release in time for the 2020 holiday season.
Games Workshop followed that announcement with two more, each showcasing another of the teams gearing up to join the second season rost𓄧er. That’s three teams presented so far for season two - the (human), the , and the (necromantic). Let’s head to the locker rooms for a closer look.
Blood Bowl fantasy football is based on the Warhammer Fantasy wargame system, and was first launched back in 1986. Since then, new Blood Bowl editions hit the playing fields in 1988, 1994, 2001, and 2016. The coaches at Warhammer Studio are promising Blood Bowl’s second season edition to be “bigger, better, and 100% Blood Bowl,” using their 30 years of previous experience and countless hours of current Warhammer Community playtesting and feedback to brဣing us a masterful 🤡game.
As would be expected for a new edition, Blood Bowl’s core mechanics have been updated and improved, and the experience, injury, and Star Player Points have been revised to add new team tactics for on and off the field. Team tactics are a prime factor in Blood Bowl, with each time having their own favored tactics and strategies for winninಞg, and not always by having the most points.
The human Imperial Nobility team is made up of nobles from the elite of Old World society. With money not bein🐬g a negative concern, they have bought the best players they could buy to field their team with. The Black Orcs may not be as nimble as other teams, but with support from their goblin and troll team members, they have no problem shattering through the defensive lines of any other teams on the field. Bringing true horror gameplay to the field is the necromantic Wolfenburg Crypt-Stealers consisting of flesh golems, werewolves, wraiths, and other spirits of the damned.
Games Workshop will be bringing us more details on these and any other teams in the future. Until then, catch future Blood Bowl play-by-play calls on the Twitter channel.
