You may remember Nickelodeon for cartoons like SpongeBob SquarePants and The Fairly OddParents, but the live action shows are also memorable shows on the network. They may not be as bouncy and colorful, but they provide actors we can easily recognize, funny jokes, and great lessons. We love seeing these live-action characters physically grow up as the shows progress, making us relate to the𝐆m just like the cartoons.
These shows may seem kid-friendly at a first glance, but if you or someone older were to watch these shows, then you may catch some lines that can come off as not so innocent. They can range from references to the human anatomy or adult jokes that will make older people snicker. Some are subtle while others have to require some h๊ar൲d thinking to get it. Most of the shows happen to have the same creator, so there will be a lot of weird jokes.
Nevertheless, they still provide great entertainment, since younger fans can enjoy the shows innocently while the older fans can catch the jokes from a mile away. One actor once sang, “It’s gonna take some time to realize,” and maybe once those younger fans watch the show when they grow up a bit, then they ඣwill either laugh at how obvious it was now or maybe be a bit disturbed. But he🤡y, everyone has a dirty mind once in a while, so it is all good! Here are twenty inappropriate things you never noticed un Nickelodeon live action shows!
17 ꦯ What A🙈 Feeling
In Victorious, a created by Dan Schneider (by the way, you will be seeing a most of his shows referenced here), here we have a show about a teenager named Tori who gets accepted into Hollywood Arts for her amazing talent as a singer. In the episode “The Great Ping Pong Scam,” Tori wants to join the ping pong team her friends are on since she does not believe them. When Jade refuses, Tori decides to find a way to spy on them.☂ With that, she brings Sinjin into the janitor’s closet and asks him for her help. As a reward, she kisses him and after she does so, Sinjin says, “Here comes that feeling.” That is very strange to say, considering that he later had a dream where he and Tori were in the closet again, needing a “favor.” He is one thirsty nerd, to say the very least.
16 Holy Crab! 𝄹 💛
iCarly is one of the most, if not, successful sitcoms on Nickelodeon. The characters are interesting and the concept is original and refreshing. While it does have the target audience, the jokes are something the older fans can catch a mile away. In this one, words that are inappropriate for kids’ television would be considered taboo, and iCarly is one of them that managed to make it sound like the word but by one letter off. For example, in "iThink They Kissed," Sam thinks Carly did something bad, which gets her excited and say, “Holy crab, I love this!” Since Sam said it rather fast, it ജsounded like she said “crap.” However, saying crab instead offers a funny moment൲ and got parents complaining about the usage of the word when they were clearly mishearing it.
15 Clever🉐 Word Play 🎐
While Game Shakers is not as funny as Drake and Josh and iCarly, you can always count on Dan Schneider to throw in some jokes without getting caught by the Nickelodeon executives. Game Shakers is about two girls named Babe and Kenzie who start their video game company in the seventh grade. Like with iCarly’s use of the word crab instead of crap, this entry goes way too risky. In the episode “Trip Steals the⛦ Jet,” Babe says, “What the duck!” If a parent wer💯e to hear a part of that while their kids were watching this episode, then they would probably never make them watch the show again. While it is funny and clever, that has to be one of Dan Schneider’s riskiest moves.
14 Quinn's Invention 𝓡
Zoey 101 stars Britney Spears’ younger sister Jamie Lynn Spears, and in this show, she plays the titular role who goes to a boarding school Pꩲacific Coast Academy, or PCA for short. She encounters the normal teenage struggles such as dating cute boys, stressing over certain classes, and more. Out of all the shows Dan Schneider has created, this one has the least amount of jokes, but the ones that stand out are memorable. Quinn, one of Zoey’s friends and later roommate, invents a lot of creations that are either beneficial or end up going bad. In the episode “Logan Gets Cut Off,” Quinn created the Bra Bag, which helps girls have an airbag on their chest. When testing it, the gang claps and praises the invention, as Chase gives it an A+, while Michael sneakily says D+. Given the size, Michael would be more correct.
13 🔯 🎃 Awkward Position
Out of all the sitcoms, Dan Schneider has created, Henry Danger is probably the least impactful. While it starred a male actor again years after Drake and Josh aired, it could have had more punchlines🤪 and funny characters. However, what the creator excels at are the dirty jokes. In the pilot episode, “The Danger Begins,” Ray Manchester, who goes by his alter ego Captain Man, literally got down on one knee and 💯put on the communication device for Henry, who has just started his superhero career. When he asked what the device on his wrist was for, Captain Man boldly answered, “It means we’re engaged.” The expression on Henry’s face was the same as ours. Thankfully, the older man was joking, but still, kinda creepy.
12 𓆏 Kissed A Girl? ꦆ
Drake and Josh is no doubt Dan Schneider’s magnum opus. These stepbrothers make our days better as they get into crazy antics while dealing with their evil little sister Megan. And of course, there are tons of clever and amazing jokes that range from subtle to obvious. In the episode “I Love Sushi,” the boys wanted to do something for their parents’ anniversary, so they entered a coꦏntest from a TV show they have never heard of, and when they won, Drake grabs a random girl and kisses her. Josh did the same, but what he got was a surprise. The girl he kissed 🐻had a man’s voice, which surprised us just as well. It is possible that the woman is transgender, and there was no making fun of it, which was relieving, but not to Josh probably, since he was not chewing gum when the two of them kissed.
11 ✃ More Than A Bad Boy
In Victorious, Cat is the adorable, yet ditzy redhead portrayed by Ariana Grande. Sometimes she says the most random things or asks irrelevant questions, but her singing is undeniably powerful. One of the interesting things Cat mentions t🍌hroughout the show is her unseen older brother. It is a running gag for her to mention him, and it is bizarre but surprisingly enjoyable to hear. However, in “The Prom Wrecker,” she mentions that her brother managed to get gallons of actual blood instead of fake for Jade’s play called, “Clowns Don’t Bounce.” Not only does that sound very scary, but given the situations, he’s been in mentioned by Cat, it is possible that her brother might have some problems. Whether or not he is dangerous, it is amazing he has not been caught by the police for that.
10 She Waꦉs Not Talking About ✨You
In the television movie Drake and Josh Go Hollywood, it was thrilling and fun extended episode that takes place during the summer. Drake wants to find a gig while Josh needs to write an essay about his greatest adventure. That adventure was certainly a joyride due to what they accidentally did to Megan’s plane trip. She was supposed to go to Denver, Colorado♒ to visit a friend, but the brothers ended up br🐠inging her on the wrong plane. Once Megan heard she was going to Los Angeles instead, she tapped on the flight attendant’s shoulder and asked if the pilot made a mistake. When she tells Megan that they were indeed going to Los Angeles, Megan said to herself, “Those dumb boobs.” It was clear she was referencing her brothers, but the flight attendant thought otherwise when she heard her.
9 ♔ Someone Is Thirsty
The Amanda Show uses the Saturday Night Live elements, but make it appear during the day for kids to watch, and we absolutely love it! Amanda Bynes was the queen of 90🌊s Nickelodeon and certainly had a name for herself for years to come. In one of the skits,🍌 “When People Attack,” Amanda talks about school mascots. One of the clips was a couple about to get married, but then the mascots attacked. The bride was being interviewed, claiming she has not seen her to-be husband since the attack. Then she goes out of her way to get closer to the camera and ask if there is any man out there. She also claims she is flexible, which shows just how very desperate she is.
8 Vegan Equals What? 🧜 ౠ
Victorious appears yet again thanks to the one and only Dan Schneider. The episode this joke takes place in happens to be a tribute to The Breakfast Club with Tori and her friends getting detention by Mr. Dickers (oh, hey). As they waste their time there, they waited for Trina to give them tacos just to have something to snack on instead of tuna salad. As they got the food, Cat seems unsettled by eating a taco. Jade takes note of that and asks her if she is a vegan, later accusing Robbie the same thing. In The Breakfast Club, it is referencing Bender harassing Claire and Brian for being pure. The way Jade🐟 is portrayed in asking the two that question makes this joke not only funny but also bring cle💦ver wordplay.
