One of the most famous examples of a Pokémon with a form difference is Shellos, which is very different depending on which form you catch. Titled West Sea and East Sea, Shellos is either green with a more streamlined design, or pink with a bumpy one, depending on wh🍬ich game is it caught in.

10 𝔍 How to Evolve
If you want to use a Gastrodon on your team, head to one of a few places to pick yourself up a Shellos. You'll find only East Sea Shellos (the blue one) in for some strange reason, with pink West Sea Pokémon Home.
Shellos can be found in various locations in the Wild Area as well as in Galar Mine No. 2. From there, you'll need to level up to level 30 for it to evolve into Gastrodon. More easily, Gastrodon can be caught i🐼n the wild in many of the same areas, so you can save yourself the trouble.
9 ཧ 🎀 Sand Force
There are quite a few Pokémon that can have the Sand Force ability, which increases the power 𓃲of Rock, Steel, and Ground m⛄oves by 30 percent. Pokémon that have the Sand Force ability also don't take damage from sandstorms if they normally would.
What's interesting is this secondary effect, whic🔯h is only useful for Shellos. Every Pokémon that can have Sand Force is already immune to sandstorms because of their typing, so the only Pokémon who gains any benefit from the Sand Force immunity is Shellos, which is a pure Water-type.

With West Sea Shellos originally found on the west side of Mt. Coronet in Sinnoh and East Sea found on the east side of the moun🎶tain, many have tried to dete🍨rmine why it is that they look different.
Many theories have come out, but none are yet proven, it seems. Some believe it's a difference in diet, while others think it's the water temperature in the respective regions. Various Pokédex entries mention conflicting op꧅inions.
7 ♏ Meant for Hoenn
Some Pokémon throughout the series' long history were actually meant for an earlier generation before being pushed for unknown reasons. Shellos and Gastrodon are an example of this, as both were originally meꦿant to be in the Generation III ga⛦mes.
Ken Sugimori, one of the biggest animators form the series, told reporters that Shellos and its evolution were originally intended for Ruby & Sapphire, but were cut for time.
6 🌠 Mt. Coronet
In the anime episode, Gateway to Ruin!, 🎶it was revealed by Nurse Joy that Mt. Coronet's formation is what led to the two different forms of Shellos. Those that were on the west side of the moun🎐tain would become West Sea Shellos, with those on the east becoming East Sea Shellos.
The differing habitats 🅰and isolation from one another caused the two populations to become visually different from one another. Howeverꦑ, the two forms can still breed and possess no stat or move differences.
5 Ooze
There are more Pokémon with scary or gross Pokédex entries than a lot of people realize (or are willing to learn about). 💦Shellos is one of these Pokémon. According to various Pokédex entries, squeezing a Shellos or pushing it will cause it to ooze a strange purple liquid.
The ooze is described as "awfully sticky" and hard to get off, which is gross enough on its own. However, Shellos Pokédex entries in Ultra Moon & Ultra Sun (depend𒁏i💯ng on the form) states that the ooze is a "greasy sweat."
4 Pokémon GO 🧔
Joining Seviper, Zangoose, Lunatone, Solrock, and many more as a hemisphere-locked spawn in Pokémon GO ♒is Shellos. West Sea Shellos appears only in the Western Hemisphere, while East Sea ap𝓰pears in the Eastern Hemisphere.
However, upon the first release, Niantic (GO's developers) made a tiny mistake. It appeared that for an unknown but very short amount of time, both Shellos were ap꧒pearing wor🦩ldwide. The mistake was quickly fixed, but there are a few very lucky players that now have both forms without having to travel or trade.
3 Vibrant Colors 𒉰
The theories about how Shellos' appearance changed might have their answer in water quality. It's said in the Pokédღex that Shellos becomes more vibrant and colorful when the ocean is more "lovely."
Apparently, Shellos can have varying levels of vibrancy in different ꧟water qualities, meaning you might find a more saturated pink or blue if you're lucky. Of course, all Shellos in the games look the same. Unfortu💖nately, you also won't be able to guarantee yourself a shiny Shellos by hunting in a certain quality of water.
2 Relatives
According to Gastrodon's Pokédex entry in Ultra Moon, it's a relative of Shellder and Cloyster. Seeing as Gastrodon apparently used to have a hard shell that softened over time, it's easy to see the connection. Both Cloyster and Gastrodon are slimy squishy Pokémon with hard, bumpy protective shell🍷s.
