Best Equipment To Fight Cobalt Lavaback

grithide armor made from gritdog materials

The Cobalt Lavaback uses a combination of physical and Fire attribute attacks to deal damage. Because of this, armor with a good blend of these two defences will protect the most against this Kemono. The Myotara armor set, crafted from Mighty Gritdog materials, provides this, as well as a few 💧nice skills, especially if you upgrade it to the Human-path or Kemono-path.🎃

Azuki Beans are a gꩲreat food to have for this fight, providing Health Boost and Fire Resilience.

A strong physical weapon will do the most damage against the Cobalt Lavaback due to its lower than average Water attribute resistance. Also, be sure to bring the Glider Karakuri to create Healing Mists during the fight, as these can help restore health when you're on fire.

The Chain Trap Fusion Karakuri may also come in handy for pinning down the Cobalt Lavaback and preventing it from dive-kicking around the battlefield. This Fusion Karakuri is created by combining four Stakes and two Crates, and can be awakened during the Deathstalker fight.

For the most part, the Cobalt Lavaback uses similar moves to its regular species. Most of its attacks will inflict the Ablaze ailment, which will start dealing damage over time when the ailment gauge is full. However, unlike some other ailments, you can manually clear Ablaze by rolling around a few times.

The Cobalt Lavaback will mainly attack with its arms, slamming them to its front three times, or spinning them around in a whirlwind as it moves. Both of these attacks can deal high damage if you're hit, but present opportunities to deal damage back to the Kemono when it is recovering.

The Cobalt Lavaback may also dive kick towards you, sliding across the ground for a short distance and dealing damage. At the end of this attack, the Cobalt Lavaback has a chance to jump into a lava puddle, disappearing for a moment. Then, it will create another lava puddle on the ground near you, leaping through it to deal damage where it lands. Whether the Cobalt Lavaback jumps through a puddle or not, it will recover for a moment at the end of these attacks, creating an opening for you to dea🌺l some damage.

One of the Cobalt Lavaback's most dangerous attacks is its fireball. The Kemono will reach into the ground, pulling out a massive fireball that it will then throw down to the ground, dealing high damage in the area. Although this attack is highly dangerous, if you time your dodge right, you can narrowly avoid damage while remaining close to the Cobalt Lavaback, ready to counterattack.

After the Cobalt Lavaback has taken some damage, it will enrage and the volcano on its back will grow in size and have a blue and red glow. While enraged, the Cobalt Lavaback will gain new attacks, and some of its other attacks will be empowered. As the Cobalt Lavaback enters its enraged state, it will spread blue lava around itself before causing it to explode, dealing high damage in the area.

While enraged, the Cobalt Lavaback can dive into lava puddles after more attacks, and may dive multiple times in a row, kicking through the air between dives. When the Cobalt Lavaback disappears, watch the area carefully to determine where it will reappear, and get ready to dod💞ge out of the way. Get in hits 🐲where you can, but be ready to move out of the way when the Cobalt Lavaback prepares to attack.
