This guide includes the consequences of those choices and instructions on how 🐼to complete the rest of the quest.

Updated on December 10, 2022 by Quinton O'Connor: Any quest that emphasizes player choice in The Witcher 3 is a quest that warrants a closer examination from us in light of the game's new PS5 and Xbox Series versions. For 'Lilac and Gooseberries', we've cleared up a few murky tidbits in the writing and reorganized this page's layout for easier referencing.

Speaking With Vesemir

The quest begins with Geralt talking to Vesemir about his dream. You get some dialog options, but they don't significantly impact anything. At the end of the conversation, you are attacked by a pack of ghouls.

As it's the first real fight of the game, it's not tough. Fast sword strikes will be enough to take the creatures down easily. After the battle, you can pick up the Crystal Skull seen in the opening cinematic f🅠rom nex💟t to your camp. It's not required, but doing so grants you some extra experience points.

Following Vesemir

Once you're ready to go, mount your horse and simply follow Vesemir. The two of you ride and talk for𝓀 a while. Eventually, ꩲthough, you find a merchant who's getting attacked by a Griffin.

You don't fight the large beast yet, as the short battle takes place in the c🧸utscene. 😼In the fight, Vesemir gets wounded, but the Witchers still manage to drive the creature away.

As a result, the merchant assumes that you want to be paid for saving him. You can either accept the reward of 50 crowns or politely decline and receive a discount at his shop later. The conversation then shifts to the topic of Yennefer. More preciously, the Sorceress' current location. The merchant doesn't know her but points you in the direction of the White Orchard Inn. So, get back on your horse and follow Vesemir to the place.

When you get there, the two Witchers talk to the Innkeeper, and you're able to ask some questions. Vesemir then sits down to tend his wound, and you're left to your own devices.

Asking Around About Yennefer

At this point, your objective is to speak with some locals to see if they know anything about Yennefer. The game marks three tables in the tavern for you to visit.

While you don't need to have all thꦏree conversatio🌱ns to continue the quest, they're all interesting in their own way.

  • Two Peasants - There are two people on a table very close to where Vesemir is sitting. They won't be particularly interested in conversing with you. However, if you use the dialog option with the Axii symbol next to it, you can loosen one of their tongues. Plus, doing so gains you some extra experience points.
  • Scholar - This guy is at a table near the innkeeper. Initially, he's got a few people around him, but they clear off when you engage the Scholar in conversation. While he doesn't have a lot to say about Yennefer, his perspective on the war is fascinating, and he introduces you to the card game named Gwent.
  • Gaunter O'Dimm - The bald man near the entrance is Gaunter O'Dimm, and he's the one you must talk with to continue the quest. He speaks about several things and asks you a few questions. And in the end, he reveals that he saw Yennefer recently speaking to a Nilfgaardian captain.

Surviving The Ambush

When you leave the White Orchard Inn, you are confronted by three adversaries. They're not fond of Witchers, so they're ready to fight. You get three choices of what to say:

  • "Three Against One? My, You're Brave." - If you pick this option, you have a one-on-one fight until the first guy is down, then the others jump in.
  • "I Won't Stay Long." - With these words, Geralt tries to defuse the situation. But the three still attack you, and you must defeat them all.
  • "Back Off." - This option comes with the Axii symbol. Using the sign, Geralt incapacitates one and fights the other two. You also gain an additional 25 experience points for picking this one.

So, each option leads to a fistfight. Thankfully, though, your opponents aren't exactly heavyweight boxers. Therefore, you should be able to knock them out relatively easily.

Talking To The Nilfgaardian Captain

After the fight, you need to head to the Nilfgaard Garrison, northwest of the Inn. If you lea🌄ve the village from the western side, then there's just a straight road up to the place. Once you get there, the two guards on the door will allow you inside.

Head to the west side of the place to find the captain. He has information on Yennefer but will only reveal it if you get rid of the griffin tormenting the area. After you agree to his demands, the 'Lilac And Gooseberries' quest pauses as you have to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:complete The Beast of White Orchard to continue.

Returning To The White Orchard Inn

Once you've slain the Griffin and completed the corresponding quest, return to the White Orchard Inn to speak with Vesemir. Be warned that you will automatically fail some secondary quests if you haven't completed them before talking to him.

The two Witchers don't get too much time to converse as they get ambushed. And you're forced to kill the attackers in self-defense.

Despite not initiating the conflict, the locals aren't happy with your actions, so they kick you out. When you step outside, you're met by a Nilfgaard patrol led by Yennefer. She tells you that Emperor Emyr wants to see you. And so, Geralt rides off to Vizima, the capital city of Temeria, to meet the ruler. This moment serves as the end to the quest.
