Vesemir from the Witcher series that's recently been adapted by Netflix (and will hopefully be portrayed by if he and pretty much any Witcher fan ever get their wish) might seem like just your average old man from a fantasy story, someone who was pretty go𒐪od in his day but has taken a backseat to his younger protagonist, but in reality, he really still has a good amount of monster hunting chops at his disposal.
He's proven himself time and time again to know his stuff better than maybe even Geralt and was a crucial part in training Ciri to be 𝓡as incredible as she is at what she does. Since he seems like a bit of an analog for a pretty common anime trope, let's see who he might win or lose some fights to.
10 🐎 Win: Joseph Joestar
While Joseph Joestar was an absolute powerhouse of will, strength, and most notably trickery during the run of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Battle Tendency, age definitely took its toll on older Joseph during Stardust Crusaders. Since his power mostly relies on "The Ripple" (or "Hamon", depending on which translation you saw🔯), when stands enter the picture and become the primary way that battle happens, all he has is Hermit Purple, which is effective again﷽st some forms of enemy. But it definitely wouldn't stand a chance against such an accomplished swordfighter with mutations like Vesemir.
Even in a fight that uses mostly just their physical prowess, there's a good chance that Joseph would lose this fight. That being said, Joseph in his prime vs. Vesemir in his would be a fight for the age🀅s.
9 🌞Lose: Master Roshi
As strong as Vesemir is, when it comes to a fight with the great Master Roshܫi, the man who trained the Z fighters and is one of the strongest humans of all time, and de🎶finitely the strongest of his generation, Vesemir really doesn't stand a chance.
While Vesemir has been killing monsters for most of his life, he hasn't ever faced someone as powerful as Master Roshi, and it's more than likely that one good max power Kamehameha would probably wipe Vesemir off the face of the planet. This doesn't mean that Vesemir wouldn't put up💯 a good fight, but once Roshi realized he actually needed to try and got powered up, it would be over.
8 Win: Sugoroku Mutou ♉
The grandfather of the great Yugi himself from Yu-Gi-Oh, Sugoroku Mutou, also known as Solomon Muto in the dub of the show, is well known for his ability to learn card games quickly and even be pretty effective at new ones. We're gonna take this one from a weird perspective considering Vesemir would 🐻absolutely clobber Sugoroku in a normal physical fight.
Instead, we'll look at how he'd do picking up Gwent for the first time. Unfort♋unately for Sugoroku, Vesemir has had roughly upwards of 150 years to master Gwent. Even with his ability to pick up card games quickly, Vesemir has Sugoroku beat.
7 Lose: Hiruzen Sarutobi ꧟
Big oof. Sorry on this one Vesemir, but not only does Hiruzen Sarutobi also have experience hunting and killing monsters, but he's also considered a "God Of Shinobi". As great as you are in other contexts, there's really not much at all that you're going to be able to do against the man who invented most of the Jutsus that most of the other Shinobi in the Naruto universe use.
Even though Hiruzen Sarutobi lost most of his ♉ridiculous amount of Chakra in his old age, it's more than made up for by the fact that he has absolutely immaculate Chakra control. Even though you have the use of all of your signs and incredible command of a sword, you're no match for one of the greatest Shinobi of all time.
6 👍 Win: King Bradley 🐷
Fuhrer King Bradley from Fullmetal Alchemist and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood really has no chance in a swordfight against Vesemir. In fact, there's a good chance that since he's spent his whole life hunting monsters, he'd see King Bradley for the homunculus he is almost immediately, and even if he couldn't beat him in anꩲ actual sword fight, he has the signs and mutations at his disposal.
Aside from that, Vesemir would probably have bombs that are effective against homunculi, homunculus oil applied to his sword, and a witcher potion on deck to drink if he was seeing that the fight was taking a turn for the worst📖. Not even a rea💧l battle here, Vesemir has it covered.
5 Lose: Madara Uchiha ☂
Vesemir is yet again going to have a whole lot of trouble being able to get off really any attacks against a character from the Naruto universe. Not only did he found the legendary Uchiha clan that gave birth to both the great ninja Sasuke and Itachi, but he's well known as one of the 🤪most powerful Shinobi.
Madara has a ridiculous number of abilities under his belt, like his ability to fight nonstop for 24 hours at a time, in addition to the fact that he pushed a "God of Shinobi" to his absolute limits. Even though Vesemir is an incredibly skilled fight🅷er, there's not really much he'd be able to do against a nearly god-level Shinobi like Madara.
4 ও Win: Kaede 💎
While Kaede does a great job at doing w🐻hat she needs to do as a priestess in her own universe, her barrage of arrows imbued with spirit energy could be very easily c꧅ast aside with a blast of Aard from Vesemir, or even just done away with by Vesemir applying a Quen force-field to himself.
While it might take a little bit out of Vesemir what with the constant use o💯f signs and everything, this fight𝕴 probably wouldn't even take long enough to really tire him to the point of losing his footing in the battle.
3 ✱ 🦹 Lose: Edward Newgate
Edward Newgate, otherwise known as Whitebeard, is one of the most powerful pirates in all of One Piece. This means that this would be an🐻 extremely difficult battle for Vesemir. And since he's not a monster or anything, Vesemir wouldn't be able to use some sort of Pirate Dec🅰oction or Pirate oil to aid him in battle.
This would be a battle based purely on brute strength, and even with the use of Vesemir's signs, there's not really much he could do to turn t𓂃he tides against Whitebeard.
2 Win: Uncle Iroh 🦄 ♊
Unfortunately for Iroh, while the two would probably get along swimmingly in better cir𒉰cumstances, Iroh isn't really much of a fi𓄧ghter anymore in his old age and does a better job at introducing kids watching the show to eastern philosophy than he does contributing to any battles.
Vesemir on the other hand, if he has any stake in the fight, knows 🗹that he has to give the fight his all, and the only ability that Iroh has, (firebending) Vesemir has too with the use of his Igni sign, although Vesemir probably has a lesser degree of control of the fire. However, using a little bit of Quen to shield himself and going to town with his steel sword, Vesemir would make quick work of Iroh.
1 🦋 Lose: Zodd The Immortal
While Zodd has trouble beating his eternal rival Skull Knight and struggles to defeat Guts on occasion, unfortunately for Vesemir, he's neꦑither of those people.
While Vesemir mi💜ght be a great warrior and the fuel of knowing that he'd be doing battle with one of the most ferocious beings the world has ever seen, it's not enoಌugh to aid him in his fight since Zodd is well-known for having killed over 1000 men.
