If there's one thing the Witcher franchise is good at, it's making Geralt of Rivia's life so much more difficult. The games are no exception to this. Here's Triss' biggest upgrade going from book to video game. She went from a side character to a main character. In fact, she even tried to replaced Yennefer's role both in behavior and mannerisms in the first Witcher game.
The thing is, she was never really this important in the books. Andrej Sapkowski, the book's author, usually put Triss background in favor of more fleshed out and intꦦeresting characters like Yennefer and Ciri. The Tr🎃iss from the games is mostly CD Projekt Red's creation.
4 🉐 HER MATURITY💛 LEVEL
Triss in the books has aꦏbout the same youthful aura as her game counterpart. She's painted as a young and less cold sorceres🐲s—a stark contrast compared to her peers. That's also because she's only around 30 or 40 at that time.
Still, her game version manages to be a lot more mature both in planning and independence. That one led a mage uprising and escape mostly by herself. Her book version wasn't this brave or wis💜e an💜d it has only been a few years.
3 HER RELATIO🃏NSHIP WITH THE LODGE
Triss' standing with the Lodge of Sorceresses in the games has certainly changed due to her involvement with Geralt in the game trilogy. She mostly operated independently of🃏 them and even lost their favor.
In the books, she was all but Philippa Eilhart's slave. She m💫ostly feared Philippa and wouldn't dare disobey the Lodge up until her finest moment in the final book. That could mean she ch🥀anged dramatically after that but for most of the books, Triss was bound to the Lodge.
2 ꦉ HER LOYAL🌳TY
Speaking of the Lodge, this was where Triss' character was tested and she failed too many times. There wa♉s a point in the books where an outcast Yennefer was begging Philippa and the Lodge to help her and save Geralt but Philippa didn't and Triss stood silent by the head sorceress' side.
For someone who was so obsessed with Geralt, she was rather useless during that crucial moment. She wouldn't even disobey Philippa to help Geralt's loved ones. That's one of the reasons why plenty of book fans swear by Yennefer and shun T🌱riss.
1 HER CHARM
