A new Wonder Woman 🐽game was announced tonight ⛦during The Game Awards, in development from Monolith Productions.

The trailer doesn't tell us much about what the upcoming game will be. Wonder Woman can be seen wielding her lasso of truth while Hippolyta provides a monologue.

Monolith Productions is best known for developing the Middle-Earth series, 2014's Shadow of Mordor and 2017's Shadow of War. Other notable Monolith Productions games include Condemned: Criminal Origins, Gotham City Imposters, and the F.E.A.R. series.

The Wonder Woman announcement comes on the heels of a slew of superhero games announced this year, including Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and a Wolverine standalone game from Insomniac, Marvel's Midnight Suns from XCOM developers Firaxis, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge.

On the DC side, WB Games Montreal and Rocksteady Studios are developing Gotham Knights and Suicide Squ꧅ad: Kill the Justice League, respectively, for 2022 release dates. A release date for Wonder Woman has not yet been announced.

Wonder Woman has made appearances in many video games in the past, including the Injustice series of fighting games from Mortal Kombat developer NetherRealm Studios, Justice League Heroes, LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, Scribblenauts Unmasked, Lego Dimensions, and the short-lived MOBA Infinite Crisis. This is will be the first time Wonder Woman will appear as the main charaꦫcter in a solo game.
