If 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:World of Warcraft is known for one thing, it’s the war between the Horde and the Alliance. This conflict has continued since the game's universe was created back with the original Warcraft real-time-stra🍎tegy games and has persisted ever 𒆙since.

While both of these iconic factions have cycled through a nice chunk of leaders over their years 🔴on Azeroth, this article will take a look at the Horde in particular. The four main warchiefs who have served their time in World of Warcraft will be brought forward, as well as a𒁏 couple of warchiefs who served way back in the original Warcraft games.

Warchiefs Rend Blackhand of the “True Horde” and Kargath Bladefis💫t of the “Fel Horde” will not be included in this list, as they are warchiefs of antagonistic factions that broke off from the original Horde (and that were ultimately defeated by players) and are therefore not true warchiefs of the Horde.

6 ♓ Blackhand The Destroyer 🐻

WoW warchief blackhand

First up is the first warchief the Horde ever got: Blackhand (not to be confused with Rend Blackhand). This guy epitomized one of the less-flattering stereoꦓtypes of orcs, being big and strong, but not the smartest. As such, he was essentially a figurehead for the real ruler of the Horde𒐪: Gul’dan.

He put Blackhand in as a puppet, because the other orcs respected him due to💝 his sheer might and imposing presence. Make no mistake, Blackhand may not have been the brightest, but he was most certainly the biggest.

That said, even though this setup worked out pretty well for the Horde, Blackhand was the only warchief who, in the end, wasn’t really in charge. Furthermore, under his leadership, Gul’dan and his warlocks ran rampant amonಞg the orcish ranks, destroying their culꦓture and honor, and Blackhand allowed this to happen due to his own hunger for power.

5 Sylvanas

Sylvanas is one of the worst-written 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:major villains in World of Warcraft. In the words of Varok Saurfang, she was the “true heir to Blackhand’s bloody legacy,” and he most certainly wasn’t wrong. She kickstarted the Fourth War with the Alliance and a great deal of death followed suit. That said, her tactical mind, and the fact that she was actually in charge and not a puppet-warchief r🃏ank her above Blackhand.

However, she still places low on this list because – as her own motives later revealed – she ultimately didn’t really care much about the Hord♕e, infamously shouting “the Horde is nothing,” in the cinematic where she duels Saurfang.

4 ꦅ Vol’jin 🍃

Vol'jin attacking a foe

Vol’jin was the leader of the Darkspear Trolls, and became warchief of the Horde at the conclusion o🐲f Mists of Pandaria. While he led the successful rebellion against Garrosh, once he was crowned warchief by the collective faction leaders of 🍃the Horde, he really didn’t do much.

From him taking up the mantle to his death in Legion, he wasn’t active as a leader, and you would be forꦕgiven if you forgot he wa𝔍s the warchief while you were off questing in Draenor.

He ranks above Sylvanas and Blackhand mainly because his rule was relatively peaceful, aside﷽ from the war with the Iron Horde in Warlords of Draenor. He also actually cared about the Horde, as is evidenced by his leading the rebellion against Garrosh in the first place.

3 ꦗ 🍷 Orgrim Doomhammer

WoW Orgrim doomhammer from warcraft movie

Orgrim Doomhammer is the second entry here which comes from the original Warcraft lore. Simply put, he was an honorable orc who cared about his race. He saw what Blackhand and Gul’dan were doing to the Horde – corrupting it and making them more bloodthirsty than ever – and as a consequence, he took matters into his own han🍨ds.

Though the Horde would ultimately lose to the Alliance in the second war (and the orcs were subsequently put into internment camps), Orgrim upheld the values, culture, and honor better than someone like Blackhand or Sylvanas ever could, even though it took him some time to figure out that the Horde was being used by the Legion. He also ranks above Vol’jin because he was far more active 🐟🔯in shaping the fate of the Horde.

2 Thrall

After the Horde’s loss in the Second War, Thrall aided Orgrim in breaking them out of their internment camps and reforming theꦑ remnants of the Horde. Forming the new Horde in the process, he restored their ranks, fighting spirit, and honor all in one fell swoop.

Thrall became the warchief after Orgrim's death and, for the first time since the inception of the Horde by Gul’dan and Blackhand, other races were brought into the fold, such as the trolls and tauren, which ultimately changed the Horde’s original ideals and diluted their original culture.

There’s no doubt that Thrall brought true prosperity and honor to the Horde between his founding of Orgrimmar, co-leading the forces of Azeroth against the Burning Legion, and aiding in the ultimate defeat of the Lich King, to name a few. But, once Cataclysm came around, Thrall abandoned the Horde. Regardless of the “greater good” reason for doing so, he left the inexperienced Garrosh as warchief in his place to pick up the pie🌠ces of the turmoil caused by the initial Cataclysm and infighting within the Horde, such as the killing of Cairne Bloodhoof (high chieftain of the tauren).

Thrall also cheated in his Mak’gora (honorable duel and ancient orcish tradition) against Garrosh, which, while not as big a deal in comparison for all his other sins, does show he isn't quite as honorable as he makes out.

1 Garrosh

This mightꦰ be a controversial pick for the best warchief of the horde, but there are multiple reasons behind it.

Firstly, Garrosh was the most unapologetic orc the Horde has seen in a very long time, as he truly valued the old Horde’s ideals over those of Thrall’s new Horde. He saw value in strength and honor, which led him down an elitist, racist path. Not only were the other races kicked out, imprisoned, or killed, but all warlocks were essentially treated like witches in the Middle Ages. But, despite all this, Garrosh' Horde – the Orcish Horde – prospered.

Garrosh was certainly power-hungry, brutal, and proud, but he can be differentiated from the likes of Blackhand and Sylvanas quite ea❀sily. Concerning Blackhand, Garrosh’s power-hungry nature was indeed for himself, but it was also so he could lead the orcish Horde to a brighter f✨uture.

Furthermore, he didn’t let warlocks (or anyone else) diminish his Horde, as Blackhand allowed Gul'Dan to. Concerning Sylvanas, he, unlike her, cared greatly about his people, and only sought to make them stronger. As he himself said during his fight with Thrall, "all I did, I did for the Horde".

In the end, Garrosh became one of the most infamous people in Azeroth. He most definitely was not a good person, but, as far as being a warchief of the Horde goes, he not only embodied true orcish culture, but fought for it 💃fervently.

The original intent behind the Horde’s inception was to unite the orcs and bring them to power, and that is exactly what Garrosh did. Twice, actually, since he did it again on Draenor🥂 with the Iron Horde, as heಌ saved them from being enslaved by the Legion.
