In order to gather these raw ores, it's recommended that you pair Blacksmithing with Mining to acquire the goods yourseꦛlf and avoid spe🌄nding gold on the Auction House.
Alternatively, if you already have a gathering character in place, you can also pick up Jewelcrafting as a second profession, as that also uses the same ores.
When you're ready to pick up Dragon Isles Blacksmithing, head to the main city of Valdrakken and seek out Metalshaper Kuroko, the main trainer for the profession. Not only will this NPC teach you several recipes to start you off, but you can occasionally pick up quests to further your knowledge.
Finally, before you begin swinging away at an Anvil, you'll want to pick up some Blacksmithing equipment to boost your stats. You can either make these yourself when you become more advanced, or you can start off by buying them from the Auction House.

Blacksmiths are renowned for the gear that they can create, specifically their weapons and armor that's often meant for the more melee-oriented classes. These recipes make up the bulk of a Blacksmith's crafting UI.

There are three weapon categories that a Blacksmith can create: shields that are meant for Warriors, Paladins, and Shamans; one-handed weapons that can be used by almost any class in the game; and bulkier two-handed weapons that can deliver some serious damage.

Last but not least, Blacksmiths are able to combine their Alloys into a faithful companion! Alvin the Anvil is a sentient, lovable smithy to join you on your adventures, and Blacksmiths have a small chance to pick up its recipe from Rohzor Forgesmash.
How To Rank Up In Blacksmithing
If you're looking to level through Blacksmithing quickly, then you're in luck. This is one of the easier professions to level, provided that you have enough gold to continue to buy new recipes from your trainer and a good stock of ores.
- At level one, purchase the Explorer's Plate Bracers or the Draconium Blacksmith Hammer recipes and craft two of them to reach level five.
- Next, buy the recipe for the Draconium Pickaxe and craft a handful until level ten.
- Purchase the recipe for and make the Draconium Sickle to boost yourself to level 15.
- After this, craft the Draconium Blacksmith's Toolbox or the Draconium Skinning Knife until level 20.
- Purchase the Draconium Leatherworker's Knife recipe and craft it until level 25.
- The optimal craft after this is the Draconium Leatherworker's Toolset until level 30.
At this point, you should pick up the Frostfire Alloy and Primal Molten Alloy recipes for later.
- Next, buy the Draconium Needle Kit recipe and craft them until level 35.
- The Explorer's Expert Greaves will be the next recipe to focus on until level 40.
- You can purchase the recipe for and craft the Explorer's Expert Gauntlets to reach level 45.
- Purchase the Explorer's Expert Spaulders recipe and craft a few until level 50.
- Finally, purchase the recipe for Explorer's Expert Helm and make as many of them as you can until its effectiveness decays. This should be around level 65.
Once you've earned the Explorer's Expert Helm recipe, you'll find that Kuroko no longer has recipes to sell to you. If you want to keep going and reach the highest rank in Blacksmithing, you'll need to find your own recipes through world drops or specializations.
Blacksmithing Specializations
Once you hit level 25 in Blacksmithing, you'll gain the ability to specialize into one of several different talent trees using Dragon Isles Blacksmithing Knowledge. Depending꧟ on what you like or need, you can choose to hold dominion over one of several aspects of the profession.
Know that while you will encounter many points by crafting new recipes for the first time, you'll quickly taper out. You will not be able to specialize within every tree at first, so coᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚncentrate on one or two fields that interest yoꦺu.
Armorsmithing
Armorsmithing is the first choice in specializations, and as the name implies, it deals with all things relating to armor. Not only will your armor be crafted at a higher quality, but you'll unlock unique new recipes that rewards even higher Item Level.
Weaponsmithing
The second specialization, Weaponsmithing, is the counterpart of the first. If you want to focus on offense and be able to craft unique recipes that offer more stats and higher damage, this is the path for you.
Specialty Smithing
Specialty Smithing isn't as straightforward as the others, but masters in this tree are able to craft higher quality profession equipment and consumables, cornering a specific market o🐎n the Auction House to earn gꦐold very quickly.
Hammer Control
The fourth and last specialization, Hammer Control, is the jack of all trades talent tree. If none of the other choices appeal to you, these perks give you overall efficiency while you're crafting, and even offer a bonus chance to salvage back some of your materials from a recipe.
