Born From The Scourge

All that die at the hands of th꧂e Lich King or his Death Knights could be turned into undead, making them the greatest threat the world had faced at the time.

The first victim to retain some form of free will 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:was Sylvanas Windrunner; this was done on purpose, so she would suffer more when forced to act against her Elven brethren. In time, her chains would waver, both from her strong will and from her captors losing strength, so she started to gather other undead, giving them the gift of free will and rising in rebellion against the Scourge.

This first rebellious group of Undead called themselves the Forsaken, being led by Sylvanas herself. They were all undead, mostly Humans and High Elves, and had a single purpose: revenge on the Lich King.

Members And Abilities

As the Lich King was pushed from the Eastern Kingdoms, the Forsaken took shelter in their fallen homeland of Lordaeron. When a player creates a member of this faction, the model is always a hunched over Human corpse, even when other prominent Forsaken use normal Human models or High Elven mod𒅌els, although in both cases they🔥 have a paler skin tone.

The Undead High Elves (or Darkfallen) look is accessible to players via an unlockable cosmetic option for Void, Nigh﷽t, and Blood Elves, although the player would still be considered to be a living Elf by the game systems.

As Undead, the Forsaken had to leave their old lives behind, being shunned by the Alliance as the monsters they looked like. Sylvanas ended up sending emissaries to the Horde, since the Alliance already saw them as enemies, and Warchief Thrall agreed to have them join his faction.

The Forsaken proved to be valuable allies, not only for their presence in the Eastern Kingdoms (something the Horde lacked at the time), but also for their abilities as Undead. These are skills even players can use, like not needing to breathe underwater or healing themselves by eating fallen enemies.

Second Generation Forsaken

Once the Lich King was defeated, Sylvanas and her Forsaken were left without purpose. With her revenge fulfilled, Sylvanas had little else to fight for in her unlife, so she tried to end it, only to be approached by a powerful entity known as the Jailer.

This Jailer gave Sylvanas a new-found purpose, and she needed to bolster the ranks of her Forsaken to fulfill her goals. She used the necromantic abilities of the Val’kyr, former agents of the Lich King, to raise a new generation of Forsaken, and used her new forces to conquer new land for the Horde, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:particularly Gilneas.

All Forsaken characters made after Cataclysm are considered to be Second Generation, unless 🅷you start the game in Exile’s Reach, at which point is up to you if your character is🌜 First or Second Generation.

Rise And Fall Of Warchief Sylvanas

You’d be forgiven to think that the time of Sylvanas as Warchief was a golden age for the Forsaken, yet it was far from that. The entire Horde suffered from her rule, particularly because she was still working for the Jailer, trying to cause as much bꦓloodshed as possible before joining him in the Shadowlands.

Yet many Forsaken followed her blindly, and considering their history, it comes as no surprise. She was their liberator in their time of absolute hopelessness, and she led them to a new life under her banner; she wasn’t just a leader, to many of them she was family; that made her betrayal hit deeper.

Once Sylvanas was gone, the faction was left leaderless, but no one dared take the role; blindly following someone is what led to their downfall. Much like the Horde learned from their mistakes, the Forsaken did the same, and formed the Desolate Council.

The original Desolate Council was formed during Sylvana's time as Warchief, but they lacked any real influence.

The Council members are:

• Lilian Voss, the most well-known Forsaken after Sylvanas and the only Second Generation member.
• Calia Menethil, sister of Arthas Menethil and the only known Undead to be raised by the Light, making her rise to unlife unique to all other members.
• Master Apothecary Faranell, a renowned alchemist involved in the creation of different plagues.
• Deathstalker Commander Belmont, master assassin of the Forsaken, who participated in many of their infiltration efforts.
• Dark Ranger Velonara, the only Undead High Elf member and one that has stood with Sylvanas since the beginning, but still scorns her actions.

Are Death Knights Part Of The Forsaken?

While both the Forsaken and the Death Knights are Undead (and accessible to players), they don't belong to the same faction. The Forsaken are formed by the renegades of the Undead Scourge, and later bolstered duringꦯ the Cataclysm by Sylvanas; none of them were Death Knights.

The original Death Knights were the elite force of the Lich King, and once he left the Eastern Kingdoms, he took his Death Knights with him. Some of these Death Knights were later able to attain freedom and rebel against their former master, but they did so as🐷 a small faction unrelated to the F🐈orsaken.

Alliance Death Knights are later accepted into said faction thanks to a change of perspective that the years brought, while Horde Death Knights simply join their original race's home. Some diplomatic measures were taken to have the Forsaken connect with their human families, but they always ended in failure; although this new era of peace after the Shadowlands incident brings a new ray of hope to that endeavor.
