Quick Links
Life in an RPG game isn't about adventuring non-stop. Characters must stop and prepare their weapons, provisions, and gear for every journey. In plenty of games that use the RPG framework as their basis, some of these skills are elevated to a professional level. Examples include fishing, farming, and cooking, to name a few.
Cooking is one of the Secondary Professions in 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:World of Warcraft: Classic, which means every character can learn it without conflicting with their chosen professions. Cooking is a handy skill for making buff foods, not only an essential boost for your character but the whole party. It's also just for fun when it comes to making special holiday foods, making feasts for your companions, or making magical treats like Deviate Delight.
Cooking In Old Azeroth
You can use a Basic Campfire to cook, but there are a variety of places where you can find wood stoves, cooking tables, fireplaces, and other locations where it's possible to cook. Inns, taverns, and private homes almost always have a fire going somewhere.
The Basic Campfire ability used to require you to carry around Flint, Tinder, and Wood, but now this ability works without the need for the🦩se reagents. Sitting by a Cozy 𒀰Fire not only gives you a place to cook in the wilderness but increases your Spirit by +4
The very first recipe you can learn is called Spice Bread, and you can buy the materials from the Cooking Supplies vendor, who is usually standing right 𓂃next to the Cooking Trainer. Other ingredients like spices, milk, water, and often other recipes are also available from this vendor.
Cooking And Fishing
Cooking shares a few interesting connections with another secondary profession, Fishing. One way to get the ingredients for several recipes is Fishing because not everything you need for Cooking drops from ce🧜rtain animals. Alchemists can also use the fish they catch to make certain base materials for potions and elixirs, which becomes more important as you grind to the endgame.
In addition to obtaining the fish, clams, or squid needed for certain recipes, completing the daily Fishing quest can also help level your Cooking skill once you're at a high-enough level to reach Outland. Rewards for this quest include treats like Water Walking Potions, Sharpened Fish Hooks, and occasionally rare gems and valuable junk.
After level 70, when your adventures in Northrend start, you can get a quest from Marcia Chase in Dalaran, who also happens to be a Grand Master Fishing Trainer. An item called The Waterlogged Recipe is sometimes included in the Bag of Fishing Treasure. The reward for bringing this to the right person, usually the Cooking Supply vendor in Dalaran, is five Epicurian Awards and maybe other Cooking-related goodies.
Emotion Foods
These are recipes required for two different Achievements: "Second That Emotion" and "Northrend Gouᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚrmet."
Finding these recipes is the real challenge. They require Grand Master Cooking training to see when they drop, are bind-on-pickup, and are only available in Northrend's dungeons.
- Bad Clams. Combine succulent Clam Meat with a Mote of Shadow for a recipe that makes your character angry.
- Haunted Herring. Made from Fangtooth Herring and Essence of Undeath, this makes you scared.
- Last Week's Mammoth. Made from a Chunk o' Mammoth, and eating it makes you sad.
- Tasty Cupcake. Combine a Simple Flour with a Northern Egg to make this happy dessert.
Cooking Trainers In Azeroth
These trainers are located throughout the Eastern Kingdoms and𝔉 Kalimdor. They train in both the skill and recipes. Other recipes can be purchased from vendors and some are available as awards for completing quests.
Horde Trainers
- Zamja. She's in Orgrimmar, the first shop on the top of the stairs to the left when going through the Drag towards the Valley of Honor.
- Eunice Burch. The Cooking trainer is easy to find in Undercity. She's south of the bank in the Trade Quarter of Undercity.
- Aska Mistrunner. Find her on the Middle Rise in Thunder Bluff, to the right of the exit from the spiral staircase in the big central totem.
- Duhng. Despite the name, he has the same recipes as other trainers. He's in a small outpost in The Barrens southeast of the Crossroads.
- Mudduk. An easy NPC to miss, he's on the western side of Grom'Gol, the Horde outpost in northern Stranglethorn Vale.
- Pyall Silentstride. Bloodhoof Village is in Mulgore, south of Thunder Bluff and outside of the Tauren starting area.
Alliance Trainers
- Stephen Ryback. He's slicing and dicing in the Pig and Whistle Tavern in the Old City section of Stormwind.
- Daryl Riknussun. Find him in the corridor between the Great Forge and the Hall of Explorers in Ironforge.
- Alegorn. Craftsman's Terrace in Darnassus is where you can find most of the profession trainers. Alegorn is in the building closest to the water on the north side.
- Gremlock Pilsnor. The first Cooking trainer most Gnomes and Dwarves meet is in Kharanos, the small city outside of Ironforge in Dun Morogh.
- Tomas. He's in Elwyn Forest standing on the north side of the road that leads east of Goldshire.
- Zarrin. Dolanar is the first city that most Night Elves see in Teldrassil. He's standing in the tavern.
Some of the recipes in Old Azeroth come from vendors that a𓆉re exclusive to either faction. These recipes are not soulbound, however, and sometimes you can find them on the neutral Auction House in cities like Booty Bay🍸 and Gadgetzan.
Level Your Cooking In Old Azeroth
Apprentice Cooking
Apprentice Cooking requires level 5, and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:most characters will be at this level by t😼he timꦉe they wander out of their starting area and meet a trainer.
Spice Bread is a new recipe from The Burning Crusade expansion that gives players a chance to get a head start on their Cooking grind. You can use this simple dish to grꦜind u꧅p to level 10 Cooking, at which point you can train for Journeyman.
Journeyman Cooking
You have to be level 10 as well 💦as at least 50 Cooking⛦ to learn the Journeyman Cooking skill. The same vendor that taught you Apprentice can also teach you Journeyman and extend your skill level cap to 225.
Charred Wolf Meat, Smoked Bear Meat, and Roasted Boar Meat are common examples of recipes you can use to train on the meat side. Thꦜey require Boar Meat, Wolf Meat, and Bear Meat, simple resources to find in 🌜the plains of Durtar or the forests of Tirisfal Glades.
For the pescatarians, Clam Meat, Raw Longjaw Mud Snapper, and Raw Brilliant Smallfish are the ingredients needed for the low-level recipes that will take you from 10 to 70. Hang on to any Clam Meat you find for the Boiled Clams recipe that you can get at level 7🎶0 to gri🌞nd up to 85.
The two most useful materials to grind from 70 to 100 are dominated by shellfish, so this is the point where everyone needs to bait a hook. Crab Cakes and Cooked Crab Claws will get you over the hump to 100.
Expert And Artisan Cooking
Both Expert and Artisan Cooking require some legwork on your part. The trainers can't help you in the conventional sense anymore. If you talk to them, they'll tell you to go and buy a book from an NPC, and exactly where you go and who you talk to depends on the faction.
- Shandrina. Mystal Lake is a small Night Elf Outpost in the southern part of Ashenvale, just to the east of the Talondeep Path. It's not often marked on maps and can be an awkward place to find.
- Wulan. Shadowprey Village is 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:on the western coast of Desolace, and the fishing here is much better than the hunting if you're thinking about grinding up your Cooking skill while you're here.
Expert Cooking, Levels 150 to 225
Journeyman skill maxes out at 150, but you can buy the book as early as skill level 125, and it expands your skill to 225. Once you reach level 150, there's a wide variety of recipes you can use to max out your level. The following examples follow both the meat and fish path, but it's always helpful to diversify and use up some materials that are cluttering your bags.
- Seasoned Wolf Kabob. A recipe that you'll be rewarded for doing an Alliance quest in Duskwood. Horde players can find it on the Auction House. It awards experience up to 130.
- Bristle Whisker Catfish. Available from your Cooking Supplies vendor, fisherfolk can grind up to 175 using this recipe.
- Curiously Tasty Omelet. Buy this recipe from a Trade Vendor and collect eggs from both raptors and owlbeasts to grind up to 175.
- Hot Lion Chops. This is the Horde version of the Seasoned Wold Kabob in the sense that it's only available from a Horde vendor. The difference is that it grinds up to 175.
- Soothing Turtle Bisque. The good news is that you can grind all the way to 200 using this recipe. The bad news is that it's only available in WoW: Classic.
- Jungle Stew. If you're in Stranglethorn Vale killing tigers and getting a lot of Tiger Meat anyway, this is an easy way to grind up your Cooking level.
- Mithril Headed Trout. This is one of the fish recipes that you can buy in Booty Bay, and all of them can grind your level to 225.
- Spider Sausage. With a required Cooking skill of 200, this is one of the last recipes that the usual trainers will be able to teach you. White Spider Meat isn't as commonly found as other ingredients, but this recipe can max out your level, so it's worth it.
Artisan Cooking, Levels 225 to 300
At this point, provided they are at least level 35 and have a cooking level of 225, players have to visit an NPC named Dirge Quikcleave. He's in the tavern in Gadgetzan and you can find him in the back by the hanging meat. He'll be happy to teach you his famous recipe, Calmette Surprise, and raise your skill level to 225, if you just run some quick errands for him.
The recipe requires Zesty Clam meat, Fine Aged Cheddar, and Giant Eggs. Deliver them to Dirge and you'll learn the recipe, which is one of the few that can grant experience points past 225. Another high-level recipe that you'll find in southern Kalimdor, specifically in Silithus, is Smoked Desert Dumplings, which grants a Strength buff. If you can't use it, sell it or give it to your party's tank.
One of the best ways to grind up to the maximum level of 300 is by focusing on recipes that give essential raid and party buffs. It's at this point that you'll be close to endgame and certain activities will require that you bring consumes anyway. Grilled Squid, which improves Agility, and Skullfish Soup, which buffs both Crit💞ical Strike and Spirit, are two examples.
Cooking In Outland
Before training for Cooking in Outland, your character should have a maxed-out Cooking level of 300. Your adventures in Outland will grind your Cooking skill to 350. There are three neutral trainers available in addition to the ones for each faction, but the recipes they sell vary, so it's recommended to visit as many as possible.
Master Cooking Trainers
- Gaston. Honor Hold is the Alliance post to the southeast of Hellfire Citadel, where you can find Gaston in the inn.
- Celie Steelwing. Find her in Wildhammer Stronghold in the southwestern part of Shadowmoon Valley.
- Allison. The innkeeper in Thrallmar, the Horde outpost in Hellfire Peninsula.
- Naka. As a member of the Cenarion Expedition, she's happy to help members of either faction. She's in the Cenarion Refuge Zangarmarsh.
- Jack Trapper. He's standing by the big adobe oven in Lower City, Shattrath.
- Kylene. She's one of the Barmaids in the World's End Tavern in Lower City, Shattrath.
Cooking In Northrend
As it was💫 when traveling to Outland, you shou꧙ld have your Cooking skill maxed out when you go to Northrend. The level of training here starts at Grand Master, and the minimum required level for Northrend recipes is 350.
Northern Cooking
Before you even begin training, you need to finish a quest called "Northern Cooking." This requires you to collect four pieces of Chilled Meat, one of Northrend's most plentiful cooking ingredients, and bring them to your trainer. Any of the trainers you meet in your faction's major cities in Northrend can give you this quest.
The reward for completing this quest is the recipe for Northern Stew, which only requires only Chilled Meat. You need some food for questing anyway, and making 23 hearty bowls will get you to a skill level of 365.
Grand Master Trainers, levels 350 to 400
Horde
- Thomas Kolichio. Find him in Vengence Landing in Howling Fjord between the two main buildings.
- Orn Tenderhoof. On the main floor of Warsong Hold in the Borean Tundra.
- Awilo Lon'gomba. Works in the kitchen of The Filthy Animal on the Horde side of Dalaran.
Alliance
- Brom Brewbaster. Find him at the inn close to the dock in Vagarde, Howling Fjord.
- Rollick MacKreel. Outside of town, in a tent city on the shoreline near Valiance Keep 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:off the coast in the Borean Tundra.
- Katherine Lee. She can be found in Dalaran in A Hero's Welcome, an inn within the Silver Enclave.
Party Consumables
Various new buff foods for individual players are included in the latest patch, and the tweaks at lower levels include easier recipes with fewer ingredients. The tradition of mandatory raid food buffs continues, but a new feature is recipes that feed more than one player. Not everyone can feast on these meals, only other party members, but that's the intention in a raid or party situation.
Using books or speaking to trainers isn't required to learn any of these recipes. The options for a multi-person spread can only be learned via a recipe scroll purchased from the Grand Master Cooking Trainers in Dalaran using Epicurian Awards.
Recipes And Ingredients In Northrend
Leveling Your Cooking Skill To 450
These are the recipes you learn in Northrend from your trainer, and all of them require Northern Spices as an ingredient. Any combination of about 70 dishes will grind your level to 400. The ones you choose will depend on your character's race, class, and what's selling for a high price at the Auction House.

The Dalaran Daily Cooking Quests
There are five different cooking quests. These quests are the same for Horde and Alliance, but you have to get them from different trainers. They often feature recipes only available when you're on the quest.
Useful and valuable items can also randomly drop from the Small Spice Bag. Rare recipes like Delicious Chocolate Cake and Captain Rumsey's lager are also possible rewards, and if all that still isn't enough, finishing the quests gets you 150 rep with the Kirin Tor. Rewa𝓡rds for the quests include essentia♏l items like Northern Spices and fun cosmetic items like Baby Spice, which makes you small, and Old Spice, which makes you smell good.
