For almost a year, Polish studio The Farm 51 has been q⛄uietly working on a massive overhaul for its military shooter, World War 3. Now, the creators are ready to show off all the changes implemented to the title during this hiatus, with an update many thought would never come.
World War 3 is a tactical online multiplayer FPS, set in the middle of a modern global conflict. However, when World War 3 launched in Early Access on Steam in 2018, the game quickly lost its player 🌳base and went off the grid. The developers removed World War 3 from sale in August 2020, yet it seems the team had never planned to abandon the title completely. Now, World W🎐ar 3 is back from the dead, and The Farm 51 says the game “is in full development.”
In a new video, the team reported that almost every element of the game has been reworked based on the player feedback. The devs are focusing on “playable realism” as the major guiding principle. The new update's highlights include an improved interface, better animations, reworked gunplay, and redesigned maps.
World War 3 is featuring real-world locations of Warsaw, Bꦉerlin, and Moscow, and every map has been significantly modified since the first release. The team added more points of interest and improved navigation while remaining faithful to the 🦋real-world geography of the cities at the same time.
The core shooting mechanics in World War 3 have also been given a tune-up to𓃲 be more responsive. According to the team, the players will get “an advanced ballistics system, full-body awareness, vehicle physics, and extensive customization,” that enhances immersion. The gunplay was already one of the key strengths in the initial release, so with a few tweaks, shooting enemies in WW3 might become an even more satisfying experience.
Finally, there are plenty of changes for the user interface, weapon𝓰 and equipment customization, character movement and animations, and much more. The game has also received the new backpack feature that lets you swap scopes and other gun attachments in the middle of a match.
A new release date for World War 3 has not been confirmed, b🎀ut more updates are expected from the developers soon. At theౠ same time, the servers of the early version were not shut down, so anyone who purchased it can keep playing.
