A "mere" 15 years after its debut, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:World of Warcraftis introducing ethnic diversity to its character creation kit. The game, which features several species, will now have several racial customization choices for all of them in the Shadowlands expansion, a🥀nnounced at this year's BlizzCon. The feature comes as part of a much larger visual overhaul that will allow for much more freedom in creating or altering one's toon.

Shadowlands is the eighth expansion of the game, but the first one to feature so many appearance customization options. It took a long time– but Michael Bybee, Blizzard's senior producer, says they were looking to do it properly. "What we really didn't want to do is just slap a new skin colour on there and say: 'Yep, done, we've got diversity,'" he told  in an interview.

He also added, "Instead what we're doing is we're actually remodelling the faces of these characters to match what might actually make sense for that particular ethnic background. Which takes time - but we wanted to do it right. The biggest piece there is we wanted to make sure this actually made sense in our game." Patrick Magruder, Blizzard's lead gamepl📖ay engineer, adds that all races will get these options. He points out the importance of representation: "This is actually, frankly, one of my favourite features I'm looking forward to. I'm so, so happy we're putting this in and people are finally able to say, 'That's me,' in the game."

Accord💞ing to the official announcement, this is only "the start of providing new options to your character creation." The expansion's storyline follows events after the fallen leader of the Horde, Sylvanas Windrunner, pierces the veil between the in-game world of Azeroth and the realm of the dead. Players that are currently on max level will begin playing at level 50 and work towards reaching level 60, the new cap. The game itself is getting a completely new leveling experience featuring less grinding and more meaningful gameplay. In addition to ethnic diversity, the🌞 new customization options will also let players choose different hairstyles, tattoos, and even whether their undead show their bones or not.

The customization aspect, although not affecting the gameplay itself, was something fans have been complaining about for a long time. "It feels kinda unfair that our player characters have so little options when NPCs look amazing," wrote Reddit user u/nyymphia in December 2018, with another commenter adding that, "It wasent [sic] even impressive in 2004 and now 14 years later its just pathe🎐tic."

The news have also sparked a debate on whether disagreeing with this addition is racist. Some believe that there is no place in the lore for darker-skinned humans, while others see no issue in this. Some go as far as to accuse Blizzard of "forsaking artistic integrity in favor of political correctness." Others reply that considering an all-white world normative is indicative of other issues. All in all, Blizzard does not fail to ma🐻ke the world talk about it once again.
