Yes, World of Warcraft: Shadowlands will add controller support, but that doesn’t mean it’ll turn into a console game like Diablo 3.

It'll also bring controller support, but not in the way you might be thinking. The point of controller support in Shadowlands is less 𒀰to get it to work on a PS4 or Xbox One controller and more to get it to work with, well, pretty much anyt🐓hing.
"Our focus was not to try and make WoW feel like a console game but rather for players with disabilities to have more accessible input devices," said Executive Producer John Hight in an interview with Eurogamer. "So what we're doing is enabling a lot of the things required for our add-on community to build add-ons for controller🐷 support. And it isn't just controllers: we're looking at a number of different devices."

If World of Warcraft can work with the Xbox Adaptive C🌠ontroller, it can work with anything.
But if Shadowlands can work with gamepads, why not port World of Warcraft to console? High was asked about that too, and he said he'd "want to see a good, solid prototype that showed me we could all play our characters and feel we had good command over them, and could ex⛎perience the world smoౠothly and things could be visually as enticing as they are on PC."
