However, if you꧒'ve been paying attention to the lore, you'll note that this is not the first time something akin to the Feathering has occured.

9 Best Soulslike Games Made Before Demon's Souls

Demon's Souls is known for kickstarting the✅ Soulslike genre, but these earlier games have more than a few elements of it.

The Bo people ascended in a manner similar to the Great Avians of old, garnﷺering feathered forms while keeping many of their more humanoid features. These Bo people are extinct. Or at least, so it seem🤡ed until you happen upon the Bo Sorcerer. And this particular member of the Bo people does not seem particularly keen on you trespassing upon their domain.

Preparation For Bo Sorcerer

The moon piercing through the trees in a cutscene in Wuchang: Fallen feathers.

Before facing the Bo Sorcerer, we would recommend setting up a more ideal run-back to the boss. There are a few different ways you can enter this boss fight, but all but one of them are exceptionally long. The fastest method is to go from the Avian Dwelling after knocking down a tree that connects the Avan Dwelling alm🎀ost directly to the Bo Sorcerer boss arena. This shortcut can be found by exiting the Main Rebel Camp almost immediately after entering it.

After this, you need to prep your defenses. Despite being a feathered being itself, the primary damage dealt by the Bo Sorcerer will be magic, and so this should be the resistance ou try to build the most. They than꧅kfully don't deal any status effects, soyou can focus solely on bossting your magic and other physical resistances.

Another thing that can be quite helpful is having an ally. For this fight, the White-Robed Elder will be available for help, but only if you've completed their sto𓃲ry up to this point, including defeating their Inner Demon in the Avian Colony. Once this is compplete, you can summon them to help during this fight with the Bone Whistle.

Bo Sorcerer's Strengths And Weaknesses

The Sankhara Wuchang message appearing after beating Bo Sorcerer in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.

Overall, the Bo Sorcerer is quite resistant to most forms of attack, not really having any particular weaknesses you can exploit for direct damage. That said, Fire and Lightning can be the most effective as damage types, helping you build up Burn and Parꦫalysis to increase the damage taken and reduce the damage the Bo Sorcere⛄r deals respectively.

The Burning Flames Spell is a great choice for building up💫 Burn, especially if you have the node from the Impetus Repository that increases the build-up of Burn caused by Spells.

One interesting thing of note with the Bo Sorcerer is their relative weakness to Blight. Blight reduces an enemy's maximum HP, and as such is useless in the later stages of the fight. However, getting it to activate even once can take away around a quarter of the Bo Sorcerer's HP, which can be great to help you in the early sections. That said, some Benedictions can weaken a 💖boss further when they are Blighted, so add some of these if 💟you do choose to go the Blight Route.

A final note of importance. Though you can deflect the majority of the Bo Sorcerer's sword attacks, they unfortunately do not react to it at all, so it is typicall🎉y better to just dodge their attacks.

Bo Sorcerer's Moveset

Fighting the Bo Sorcerer with the White-Robed Elder in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers.

The Bo Sorcerer is split across two phases, though they are almost iden🍸tical, with a few moves ext🅠ended. Here's all of them and how to best counter them.

  • Phase One

    Attack

    Description

    Counter

    Leaping Slash And Spin

The boss leaps into the air with a backf♊lip and then dashes towards you with a single slash. This is followed up with a spinning attack with many short-range projectiles.

There is only ever a single physical slash with this attack, so the best method is to dodge away from the attack so you can avoid ꧅the follow-up, and 𓆉then rush in afterwards.

    Trio Slash

The boss will dash towards you and perform a trio of slashes. This attack will always per෴form all three slashes.

This attack has very strong tracking, so keep close to the boss while dodging. After the third slash, try to position yoursel🌳f behind the boss and unleash a Charged Heav🦂y to open them up for a Obliterate attack.

    Water Dance

The boss will surround themselves in aᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ⁤⁤⁤⁤ᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ veil of water and fire off up to two orbs of water. These fire off quickly, deal a large amount of damage on impact, and will also burst after being dodged, which can also deal high damage.

Because of the fight taking place in water, these orbs can be hard to see, so try to give yourself some distance from the boss once they put up the water veil. Even if you dodge the orb, be prepared to dodge again if the orb explodes 💦as this also deals damage.

    Corkscrew

The boss will reel ba🍎ck and dash towards you in a corkscrew motion at high speed. This can be performed up to four times in a row.

This attack is fairly easy to dodge🌳, having a very tight hitbox. Keep in mind though that it cannot be deflecte🌌d, so dodging is a must here.

    Ground Slam

The boss will leap into the aꦦir and hover there for a moment, theirဣ body glowing. After a few moments, they will slam suddenly into the ground for high damage.

There's not a particular tell for when this move to about to go off. Once you see the boss glowing in the air, you just have o learn༺ the timing to dodge it. Thankfully, the dodge window for this attack is relatively lenient, and gives you good time to get to the boss' back.

    Regular Slashes

The bo🍸ss will perform a regular slash with their sword, either while you're near them, or to close a small gap. They will slash two or three times on average.

This is a fairly simple move to deflect or dodge, though can at times be pulled out quite s🗹uddenly.

    Aerial Light Waves

The boss will leap intꦜo the air and fire off four waves of magical light, and will then foll𒊎ow up with a ground slam.

Keep your distance so you have plenty of time to dodge the light waves. The ground slam follows quickly after the fourth light wave🏅,🌠 so be prepared to dodge.

  • Phase Two

    Attack

    Description

    Counter

    Water Tornado

When the boss enters their second phase, they will put up a massive water v🏅eil around them that you cannot pass and throw out multiple water tornadoes that track you.

This attack is only performed once when the boss phase transitions, and the tornadoes also advance outwards as they followღ you. As such, try dodge to the side or forward through them, as dodging backwards just gives the tornadoes another chance to hit you♕.

    Water Burst

The boss can now more quickly summon a water veil, and have it burst outwards in an instant♔ for decent da♌mage and to knock you away.

Whenever𝓡 the boss stands still, they are likely to summon this water veil, so keep your distance during this, as it is best to keep a distance from every water veil attack🧜.

    Quad Slash

The original Trio Slash can now be p𓄧erformed with an additional s෴lash, which can also send out a light wave.

Like before, keep close to the boss so this attack can be more easily dodged,🍰 allowing you to get close to their back after the attack ends.

    Ground Light Waves

Like the 🐬Aerial Light Waves, the boss can now send off light waves from many of tꦯheir ground-based combos.

Because of this, i💯t pays even more to stay close to the boss so you can dodge the slash a🦄nd light wave at the same time.

For the most part, you can see that the Bo Sorcerer is quite good at closing any gaps that appear, so it is best to just stay close to them 💛whenever you can.

How To Beat Bo Sorcerer

The Battle

In the fight, the Bo Sorcerer is aggressive and graceful. Outside of a few water attacks and their Ground Slam, all of their other attacks are performed with their sword. This means you can deflect them if you're comfortable, though with how little they react, it is usually better to dodge behin🐻d them as attacks from behind deal more damage and buiℱld up stagger more quickly.

The most essential means of beating the Bo Sorcerer is to learn their animation tells. Because most of their attacks are performed with their sword, the actual tells for which attack they're going to perform can be hard to discern. For example, if they do a backflip before dashing towards🔴 you, then they will only perform a single s꧅lash. They hover lightly in the air while slashing? That's going to be three slashes.

In the second phase, the fight proceeds mostly the same, though the boss does become more aggressive with the light waves and extended combos. This makes it all the more important to stay close so you don't get distracted by all the additional projectiles.

Finally, try to keep your status effects up. Burn is the easiest to get the most consistent results from. This will deal damage over time to the boss, and will i🥀ncrease the damage the take from every other source, too. This might at times be the difference between life-and-death.

The Rewards

After you finally defeat the legendary Bo Sorcerer, you will be greeted with the Sankhara Wuchang pop-up, informing you that this was an optional boss. You will also receive the Echo of the Bo Sorcerer Spell, which summons a series of icicles to attack enemies. Finally, you will get the Copper Drum, which can be given to Tao Qing to unl💧ock new i🐼tems or purchase.
