However, Wuchang offers a more selective degree of stats than many of its contem🅘poraries, and treats them a little differently as a result.

What Are The Stats In Wuchang: Fallen Feathers?
Stats in Wuchang are, like in other games, the numerical values that determine your stats. Kind of, anyway. Wuchang has only a handful of stats, eight in total, you have to worry about, though they impact you in slightly different ways than 🧜you might be expecting. Let's get a quick rundown of the primary stats, first.
- Vitality - This stat determines your overall HP.
- Endurance - This stat determines your overall Stamina.
- Strength - This stat determines your overall attack power with Strength Control weapons.
- Agility - This stat determines your overall attack power with Agility Control weapons.
- Magic - This determines your overall attack power when dealing Magic damage.
- Feathering - This determines your overall attack when dealing Feathering damage.
- Tenacity - This determines how hard you are to interrupt when performing attacks. Hyper armour, basically.
- Spellpower - This determines the overall damage you deal when casting Spells.
So, these stats are a little unusual, as they do not strictly impact each other, but have a fairly singular effect. Vitality will only increase your HP, Endurance will only increase your Stamina. While Feathering and Magic are both a damage type, this means you also have a resistance to them. However, y🐼our personal stats in thes꧙e only affect the damage you deal with them, not the damage you take.
And then we have the Control values, Strength and Agility. These are what determine damage scaling on weapons, and this is unique with every single weapon. 'Control' refers to the stats that benefit a weapon the most, with a higher stat requirement giving a much higher scaling based on said stat. Strength and Agility exist exclusively for this, while Feathering ꦐand Magic can also be used as Control values on a weapon.
For example, Axes are more likely to favour Strength as a Control stat, and thusly will gain much higher damage scaling based on this stat than the three other Control Values. Spears, meanwhile, have fairly even scaling on average for both Strength and Agility, while One-Handed Swords typic🌠ally favour Agility, but will oftentimes also scale well with Magic.
Finally, we have the two oddities, Tenacity and Spellpower. Unlike the previous six stats, the values of Tenacity and Spellpower are primarily determined by your equipment rather than the ability to directly upgrade them. Tenacity is functionally hyper armour, letting you perform attacks and tank through any his you may take. Axes, for example, come with high Tཧenacity, as do certain armour pieces, like the Ming set.
Spellpower is slightly vague, because it specifically refers to Spells as a mechanic, and not all Spells deal Magic damage. As such, Spells have multiple scalings as well. Spellpower is a general scaling that increases the power of all Spells to make them more powerful. If a Spel♊l then has Feathering or Magic as a damag type, it will then deal extra damaꦆge based on these stats.
Sadly, you cannot directly check the damage values of Spells like you can with weapons,♌ so you cannot see how 🧔stat scalings affect individual Spells.
How Do You Increase Stats?
Now we get onto the all important question - how do you actually increase any of these stats? Well, that works a bit differently, to. In Wuchang, directly leveling up only increases a single value, and that is Madness. With each level, you gain a single point towards your maximum Madness threshold, letting you battl🍸e for longer before hitting the cap and potentially unleashing your🍰 Inner Demon.
Leveling up itself is a bit different, too. To level up, you must convert your Red Mercury into Red Mercury Essence in the Impetus Repository at any Shrine, and then slot it into a node. In addition to whatever was in the node, you will also gain a level, and thusly increase your Madness limit. Aಞny and all other stat increase෴s, however, come directly from what you actually slot your Red Mercury Essence into.
You do not gain a level just from having Red Mercury Essence. It must first be slotted in🌞to a node in the Impetus Repository to have a𝐆n impact.
Every node in the Impetus Repository has an effect, such as granting passive abilities, new Discipline Skills, or increasing the charges and efficacy of the Manna Vase. Many of its nodes, however, are also direct stat increases. Activating these nodes is the only way of increasing you⛦r stats.
However, you cannot just choose any node whenever you want. You must follow the path to activate the nodes you want, and that means you must follow certain paths if y♛ou want to activate certain stat-increase 🍸nodes. As such, you should always plan how you want to move along the Impetus Repository so you can maximize the stats you actually use.
Weapons tend to come with stat increase nodes in the Impetus Repository that benefit them, like One-Handed Swords having many Magic and Agility upgrades. As🥃 such, it can pay to utilise weapons that complement each otheဣr while still using similar Control Values.
Thankfully, you can always reset every node in the Impetus Repository completely free-of-charge if you made a mista๊ke or want to try a different build.
Every Status Effect And What It Does
There are seven status effects in Wuchang, each with a uni๊que ꦏeffect. Here's each of them and what they do:
- Paralysis - Decreases the damage that you deal. The same applies to enemies. Lightning damage causes it to build up.
- Corruption - Slowly drains your HP over time. The same applies to enemies.
- Despair - When afflicted with Despair, you die instantly. The same applies to enemies.
- Burn - You take Fire damage over time, and also take increased damage in general. The same applies to enemies. Fire damage causes it to build up.
- Frostbite - You take a chunk of damage when afflicted, and have halved maximum Stamina for its duration.
- Poise Break - You take a chunk of damage and are briefly stunned. This also applies to enemies.
- Blight - Your maximum HP limit is continually drained while active, but does not drain your current HP until your maximum HP is reduced below it. The same applies to enemies.
There are many items that prevent the build-up of these status effects, and armour is the primary means of raising your resistances to them. Alwa♊ys be min🍸dful of the area you are in and the enemies you are facing so you are prepared for these status effects.
Every Buff And What It Does
In total, there are 14 different types of buffs in Wuchan🌄g, and they are roughly split into four categories. Here🐼 are all of them in more detail:
Attack Buffs
There are four Attack Buffs. They are:
- Fury - You deal and take extra damage, but also receive more Red Mercury. This occurs while at 90% Madness and above
- Attack - Increases your attacks stats (Strength, Agility, Magic, and Feathering), while increasing the damage dealt by Final attacks.
- Damage - Specifically increases the damage dealt by Final attacks.
- Swiftness - Increases the speed of your attacks, letting you unleash attacks much more quickly.
Final Attacks are those used as the last hit in a weapon combo, signified by the feathers around the attack.
Recovery Buffs
There are just two recovery buffs. They are:
- Rejuvenation - Your HP is passively restored over time for a brief period.
- Leech - Your attacks drain HP from your enemies to give a portion to you for a brief period.
The Leech buff is mainly given from the Leech Bone Needle in Tempering, acquired from the Impetus Repository.
Defense Buffs
There are five Defense Buffs in total. They are:
- Defense - Reduces the overall damage you take from all sources.
- Mitigation - Boosts your Mitigation stats. This refers specifically to direct damage sources, such as Slash, Feathering, and Lightning.
- Sturdy - Increases your Tenacity, making you much harder to interrupt during attacks.
- Resist - Specifically boosts your resistance to status effects, slowing the rate at which they build up.
- Harden - This reduces the damage you take from Final attacks from all sources.
Resist only slows the build up of status effects. It does not reduce the damage you take from status effects.
Stamina And HP Buffs
There are just three Stamina and HP Buffs. They are:
- Vitality - Despite sharing the name of your HP-increasing stat, it can temporarily increase both your HP and Stamina.
- Energize - Increases the speed at which your Stamina recovers.
- Invigorate - Reduces the Stamina cost of all actions.
Vitality will often only increase Stamina or HP, not both at the same time.
