Before the official release of the WWE 2K22 roster, there was a lot of intrigue about who was going to be inclu💛ded. After all, the game was delayed for several months - not to mention 2K21 was canceled altogether. So, it was unclear at what point they actual꧟ly locked in the roster.
To make matters worse, WWE released a lot of their superstars in the past couple of years, which must've made it a lot harder than usual for 2K to put a roster together. In the end, though, 2K22 still ended up including many current and former wrestlers, including 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:those no longer signed by WWE🐻. Yet, there are still a few surprising omissions from the base game. Here are the most notable ones.
9 🍷 Indi Hartwell
Over the years, 2K has gradually started to include more and more members of the NXT roster. However, there are always plenty of NXT names who don't make the cut. So, by that logic, Indi Hartwell's absence isn't too shocking.
Yet, it's a shame because her stablemates in The Way - Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae, and Austin Theory - are all in the game. Gargano even has The Way on his titantron, but Hartwell's exclusion means you can't re-create the group without using a CAW. While she wouldn't be one of 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the highest-rated wrestlers༺ in the game, she'd be a welcome addition regardless.
8 Ilja Dragunov 𒐪 ꧋
In recent years, NXT UK stars have started to make their way into the games. Or at least until 2K22, as this instalment has mostly ignored the British brand. The most glaring omission is Ilja Dragunov, as in the past couple of years, he's really made a name for himself.
His biggest highlight came when he dethroned the artist formerly known as Walter to capture the NXT UK Championship. Like their previous clash, the match made waves over the internet as it was a modern classic. And that bout took place on the main NXT brand's Takeover, which should've increased his chances of making it into the virtual world.
7 𝓀 Ronda Rousey ඣ
Ronda Rousey has appeared in the last few games due to her 2018-2019 run with the company. Throughout that time, there was always an expectation that she would eventual𝐆ly return after giving birth to her first child.
She did make a comeback, but after the 2K22 roster was already decided. It is a surprise that she didn't already make the cut since she's such a mainstream star. Yet, for whatever reason, it didn't happen, and you may have to settle for her being in a DLC pack.
6 Paige
Nobody is more frustrated about Paige not being included in✤ the game than the 🌠women herself. When the roster was announced, she .
Therefore, it's clear that her absence wasn't a mutual decision. And it's a shock as she has remained in the games since her career was tragically cut short in 2018. It's unclear why they decided to ax her, but it's a shame as she was one of the best talents of her generation.
5 ♎ ౠQueen Zelina
A lot happened to Zelina in between WWE 2K20 and 2K22. WWE released her from the company, and almost eight months later, they brought her back.💃 Not long after that, she🌟 became Queen Zelina.
Based on her absence in 2K22, it seems that 2K confirmed their roster at some point before she came back to WWE. This means that the already thin Women's tag division is even more depleted as the Zelina and Carmella tandem isn't included. You also miss out on Queen Zelina's royal wave.
4 Doudrop
Despite the terrible name, Doudrop has become an ever-present figure on WWE TV for a while now. And in that time, she's had some significant matches, including the battle against Becky Lynch at Royal Rumble. Unfortunately, she still doesn't make it into the game.
This one seems like a timing issue as she debuted on Raw in June 2021, which must've been after 2K locked in the roster. However, before that, she'd been competing on NXT UK, so she could've still made it if 2K paid more attention to that brand.
3 Lita
Lita is among a collection of legends you always expect to see included in the 2K series, alongside long-time friend and enemy Trish Stratus. Yet, she didn't make it this year for no clear reason. It's not like she's on bad terms with WWE as she recently had a brief return which culminated in a Raw Women's Title match against Becky Lynch.
Not only would it have been nice to see her make it into the game once again, but fans would've appreciated a different attire for her as the white shirt and camo pants combo has featured in several instalments. Hopefully, she's a 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:legend who appears in a future DLC.
2 Omos
This omission is arguably the m༺ost surprising. Omos has continually appeared on WWE TV since 2020. His big break came in October of that year when he aligned with AJ Styles.
Surely 2K couldn't have had their roster locked in since then. After all, serious Otis and Happy Corbin are in the game - albeit they're gimmick changes as opposed to completely different wrestlers. It's not like the giant of a man has been a bit-part player either, as he and Styles won tag team gold and had a good run with the titles.
1 Kurt 🌄Angle
Kurt Angle spent many years out of the WWE games while he worked for other wrestling companies. Yet, he eventually returned to WWE in 2017, and in a virtual capacity, he came back for WWE 2K18. He's been ever-present in the gaming series since - besides 2K22. And funnily enough, this is the game where his inclusion was most vital.
After all, 2K22 features Rey Mysterio's showcase in which you get to replay some of the most memorable moments of the famous luchador's career. Two of his most important matches included Kurt Angle. They faced off in a classic SummerSlam match that really showed WWE fans what Mysterio could do, and Angle was in the Triple Threat match at WrestleMania 22, where the luchador won his first WWE World Title. Angle's inclusion in the game must've been considered, but for whatever reason, it didn't happen.
