One of the biggest criticisms of WWE 2K20 was its wonky-looking character models, and you could notice them more in the menus due to the use of in-game renders. For WWE 2K22, the developers changed things up by including real-life renders for menus and character selection screens. On this occasion, they didn't need to hide the character models as most look great.
Still, the real-life images bring a sense of authenticity to the game. However, the only issue is it makes a created wrestler look stranꦉge by comparison. Thankfully, 2K has helped combat this by allowing yoওu to upload your own custom renders. Yet, the process of doing so can be confusing, so here is a guide.
Prepare The Image
How you acquire the image you want to use is up to you. However, once you have it, you'll want to remove the background if there🍌 is one using Photཧoshop or a similar program.
On Google, you can look for images that already have no background by clicking on 'tools' and changing the color to 'transparent.'
Size can be an issue with these renders, but it works if you put your background-less image on a 1024x1024 transparent canvas. You don't want your image to fill said canvas, so make sure there's space on either side (use the image above as a guide).
Then save the thing as a PNG to keep the transparent background.
Visit 2K's Official Upload Site
Next, go to , the same place you must visit to upload any image to the game. Once there, you have to sign in with your Xbox, PlayStation, or Steam account so the site knows where to send the render.
Then select 'custom portrait,' which will bring up your file manager, giving you the chance to select the image you want to upload.
When you see it in the preview, hit 'upload now.'
Download And Insert The Render On WWE 2K22
Now, go to the image manager on WWE 2K22. You can find it in Community Creations, which is part of the online tab.
The render will be on the 'incoming' page, simply hit the button designated as 'download' at the bottom of the screen.
To insert it as a render on a custom superstar, go into their personal information and add it as a custom image.
How To Use A Custom Render For An Alternate Attire
At first glance, it doesn't seem possible to include a custom render for an alternate attire. However, there is a way to do it, even if it doesn't seem to be an intended feature.
Change the 'use as alternate attire?' option to no. Then add the custom image and switch the alternate attire option back to yes. It should then appear when looking at your chosen superstar's alternate attires.
