Mic꧃rosoft is apologizing for the lack of actual gameplay at the Xbox Series X gameplay reveal last Thursday.
So May’s Inside Xbox was billed as showing 🌱us our first look at actual games running on the Xbox Series X. The presentation, however, barely had any gameplay footage at all. Instead, we were treated to various in-game cinematics and some nifty trailers from third-party developers.
Which on its own wasn’t really all that bad, but because the expectations were for real gameplay, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:fans were rightfully disappointed. Especially with Ubisoft’s trailer for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, which had absolutely no gameplay footage at all. It was enough to get Valhalla’s 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:creative director to apologize on Tw൲itter for the bait and switch.
Xbox marketing head Aaron Greenberg also took to Twitter🧸 to issue his apology. In response to a fan pointing out that Microsoft’s marketing made it clear that there would be trailers and sneak peeks in addition to g𓆉ameplay footage, Greenberg noted that their messaging on May’s Inside Xbox could have been better.
"Had we not said any꧑thing & just shown May Inside Xbox show like we did last month, I suspect reactions might have been different,” wrote Greenberg. “Clearly we set💝 some wrong expectations & that’s on us. We appreciate all the feedback & can assure you we will take it all in & learn as a team."
That’s sort of an apology, anyway. But then again, it’s hardly the first time 🧸a major console maker has tried to overhype 🐻their machine, and it almost certainly won't be the last.
