ဣ Indiana Jones And The Last Cඣrusade Is Still The Best One
Raiders came first, but Last Crusade did it best.
After walking us through the development of the game, we finally got our first look at gameplay which confirmed that it'll be a first-person adventure that seems to occasionally go into third-person when outside of combat. It was also revealed that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle takes place between Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade, which means that we'll be getting Indy at his absolute peak instead of an older version of the character like in recent movies.
MachineGames al🍷so confirmed that The Great Circle will see Indy travelling to various different locations in the world, including the Himalayas, Africa, and more.
Although many of us assumed that the Indiana Jones game would be Xbox's take on the Uncharted series, it seems that MachineGames is going in a different direction, as the footage shown has a bigger focus on stealth and puzzles than the more setpiece-based adventures of Nathan Drake. Don't worry, though, as it looks like Indy will be getting into just as many dangerous situations as you'd expect from the iconic character.
We've known about the Indiana Jones game for quite some time now, as it was originally revealed right at the start of 2021 with a vague teaser that really only set the table and didn't show off too much about the project itself, not even telling us its name. Since then, things have been pretty quiet, with the only details that we've heard about it coming from leaks and a few mentions of it by Xbox head Phil Spencer.
Although most of what has been said about Indiana Jones has been arguing back and forth about whether it's an Xbox exclusive or not, one of the most interesting details revealed about it is that it's going to be a "genre mash-up" of sorts, something that is evident in the gameplay that we just received.
