Last year, Xbox head Phil Spencer hinted during a conference that certain things in the Xbox ecosystem 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:may see p🍬rice incr🌸eases relatively soon, claiming that the company won't be able to keeps things at the same price forever. Well, it seems like that day has finally come, as it's been revealed that Microsoft will be increasing the price of both the Xbox Series X and an Xbox Game Pass subscription over the next two months.
First reported by , the Xbox Series X will see a moderate price increase to £479.99 in the UK, €549.99 across a bunch of European countires, CAD $649.99 in Canada, and AUD $799.99 in Australia. The only countries that won't see an Xbox Series X price increase are the US, Japan, Chile, Brazil, and Colombia. These price increases will take place on August 1, though the Xbox Game Pass price increase will take place a bit sooner.
Starting on July 6, the price of both Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and a standard Game Pass subscription on consoles will increase for pretty much all regions, rising from $14.99 per month to $16.99 (€14.99 / £12.99) and $9.99 a month to $10.99 (€10.99 / £8.99) respectively. For those of you who are existing Game Pass subscribers, these price changes won't go into effect until August 13. PC Game Pass subscriptions won't be changing at the moment, though it's possible it could see a price hike in the future as well.
As for the reason behind the price increases, head of communications for Xbox Kari Perez explained in a statement to The Verge that𝓀 the company simply "adjusted the prices to reflect the competitive conditions in each market", which is a fancy way of say🤡ing Microsoft and Xbox just want more money from you.
It sucks, but it's been a long time coming unfortunately. Xbox has been hinting for a while now that prices were likely to increase in 2023, especially since PlayStation, Netflix, and every other subscription service under the sun has been increasing prices as well. At least with Xbox Game Pass, you'll get to play titles like Starfield on the day of release for next to nothing, which means you're still getting a lot of bang for your buck. You'll just have to dish out a little bit more buck starting next month.
In other Xbox-related news, a lawsuit recently added a intriguing twist to Microsoft's continued attempts to acquire Activision Blizzard, as lawyers representing a suit filed by ten gamers last year claim that they have "uncontroverted evidence" that the acquisition is ♔🌟part of a bigger plan to put PlayStation out of business.
