Summary

  • Xbox announced that Game Pass Ultimate is increasing in price and that the console version is being replaced by Standard, which won't include day one releases.
  • The new tier system is confusing everybody, with Standard and Core coexisting while PC Game Pass still includes day one games despite being cheaper than Standard.

Last night, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Microsoft announced that it will be increasinꦉg Xbo♔x Game Pass Ultimate's price to $19.99 in September. Xbox Game Pass on console is also being replaced by a new $14.99 tier called "Standard" that won't include day one releases or cloud gaming. But you can still use the console version—which includes day one releases—if you're currently su꧂bscribed.

It's confusing. For one, there's already an Xbox Game Pass tier called 'Core', so is 'Core' not the standard one? There's also the separate PC Game Pass whi♎ch is also increasing in price yet remains cheaper than Standard despite including day one releases. People are having a hard time keeping up, to say the least.

ꦑIf it's confusing for industry folks, ꦺit'll be impossible for regular customers.

"Why do I need a spreadsheet to underst♐and the different Game Pass options???" wrote one frustrated .

"Oh GOD the inevitable spreadsheet infograဣphic is going to give me a fu--ing migraine..." said .

"Loo💖k at this absolute garbage fire," tweeted YouTuber . "Just buy your games and leave this subscription bullsh-t in your rearview mirror, friends😼. This is absurd."

Xbox Isn't Great With Names

One 🍌of the major flaws with the overhauled Game Pass model is the name of its tiers. 'Core' and 'Standard' mean very similar things and yet are completely different, which will no doubt confuse the average buyer.

Ahead of a ✤juggernaut release like Call of D꧂uty: Black Ops 6, which was part of a record-breaking acquisition that Microsoft no doubt hopes to bring new subscribers in with, that's a pr𓃲oblem.

But it's not a new problem. Xbox Series X/S is the successor to t✨he Xbox One X/S, somehow topping 𒈔the Wii U for confusing next-gen naming.

If you were online at all during the start of this ꦗgeneration, you'd have seen countless buyers struggling to figure out which Xbox to buy because of how similar their names were.

That's not even to mention that the Xbox 'One' is the third Xbox gen😼eration, following the 360. Nice to see Game Pass co🍌ntinuing tradition, at least.
