the November 2020 Update for both Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One will be rolling out later today. The update will bring wi🌠th it new background options, an Auto HDR indicator, "Optimized for X|S" badges, and much more.
November is coming to a end, but that𓃲 hasn't stopped Xbox from releasing a bit of new content for next-gen consoles. The November 2020 Update doesn't introduce any sweeping changes, but there are a few small perks you can look forward to. Here's a quick round-up of the key features you'll find on your new Series X and Series S:
- New dynamic background designs with additional colors and styles
- A new tag to indicate when a game is using the Auto HDR feature
- Added "X|S" badge to titles in your library that are optimized for next-gen consoles
- Ability to check your achievement status in the Game Activity tab
- Add family member accounts during console setup
- Pre-install games that are coming soon to Xbox Game Pass
Some of the features will also be added to the Xbox One family of products when applicable. Xbox Series X|S just launched a few weeks ago, but it's great to see Microsoft already offering a few useful additions for folks lucky enoug🥀h to pick up a new console.
The best new feature (in my opinion) is the ability to download games "coming soon" to Xbox Game Pass. Outside of Valhalla, most games I play on the console are part of the Game Pass program – being able to download them ahead of their release will save me the frustratio🌊n of having to wai💜t for them to install before I can actually start playing.
A clo📖se second would be the new "Optimized for X|S" badges. Almost all Xbox Game Pass titles are old Xbox One games, and it's always great to see if they'll take advantage of the power available in both Series X and Series S.
Xbox doesn𝕴't mention a specific timeframe for the roll out beyond today, so be sure to check your system later tonight to access the new features.
