In today's day and a𒐪ge, there are a lot of free to play games out there. Some of them aren't quite up to snuff, but there are plenty of them that are more than worth your time. (And maybe some $$$ on something in-game.) If you aren't looking to drop 60$ on a new release, you can always look to free to play titles for ease of mind.
The Xbox One is home to more than a few real gems in the free to play section; let༺'s take a look at ten of the beꦕst.
10 🌜 DC UNIVERSE ONLINE
DC Universe Online is an action MMO built in, you guessed it, the DC Universe. Fight alongside (or against) your favorite heroes and villains with a caped crusader of your own creation, working through eight y♐ears worth of content. This game is jam-packed with a ludicrous amount of content/stuff to do, from going through the usual solo missions, duos, dozens of 4-player instances, dozens more 8-player instances, customizing a hideout/lair for your character, creating a much larger base for your League, and more.
All of Gotham and Metropolis are here for you to explore, full of so much DC lore to delve into; it truly is a c🎃omic fan, and MMO fan's, dream come true.
9 APEX💯 LEGE✤NDS
Apex Legends is one of the newest (if not THE newest) game on this list, but it's here for good reason: it's one of the absolute best Battle Royale games out there right no💞w. Choose from a roster of (currently) nine different legends to play as all with their own unique abilities to help on your quest to become the champion squad.

Apex has some incredible movemღent systems in place to make it one of the most𒐪 fluid combat experiences out there, and the abilities present make it a pretty fresh experience every time you log in.
8 WARFRAME
Warframe has been out for quite a while and has been constantly expanding and evolving along the way. It's become an impressive display o🎶f a humongous variety of different classes, a wealth of content, ✅and a free to play model that doesn't feel exploitative.
This is another game t🔯hat's got a pretty unique and fun movement system that takes some time to master and is super-rewarding once you've got the hang of it.
7 GWENT
Starting out as a side-piece in the incredible Witcher 3, Gwent has become its own beast building its own reputation asౠ a fun, easy-to-understand and hard-to-master card game with a lot going for it.
If you love spe🅠nding time 💞in the Witcher universe, or if you're just looking for a new card game to pick up and master, this is worth giving a download.
6 NEVERWINTER🌞 🔴
Another free MMO on this list, Neverwinter is an officially lic꧒ensed Dungeons and Dragons game with a variety of different classes to use and a wealth of content to explore.
The game is pretty standard MMO-fare, and if t🐠hat's what you're looking for, it's going to be some comfort food; t🐻his is especially true if you're already invested in the Dungeons and Dragons world, as there's tons of in-game lore to enjoy.
5 ♍ PATH OF EXILE
Path of Exile is a Diablo-style Action RPG with a lotꦺ of really cool, uniqu🎐e systems that make it a really fun and fresh experience.
The skill system is what really sets Path of Exile apart from other games like it, and in most cases, set it above the competition. If this kind of game is your jam, then there's no reason noꦐt to give it a download and try it out.
4 PALADINS
At its heart, Paladins is a free to play version of Overwatch, but once you look a little bit d😼eeper, it's got a bit more going for it than just that. Sure, it's a Champion shooter with t🍌wo teams vying for an objective, but here you can also customize your character beyond just cosmetics.
You can create loadouts for each character, chanꦍging how exactly the character wor🧸ks tailored to your liking, meaning two of the same characters in Paladins could function quite differently.
3 💦 🌜 FALLOUT SHELTER
Okay, Fallout Shelter is definitely just an app game, but that doesn't mean it can't be good! It's definitely meant to (mostly) just be a time waster, but if that's what you're looking for, Fallout Sh🐬elter is one of the more interesting ones out there.
For players that love the world/art style of the Fallout Pip-Girl/Boy, this game is constructed ent🐈irely out of it. Keep a vault full of vault-dwellers alive through the post-apocaly🐻pse, managing their resources, expeditions outside the vault, and more.
2 SMITE
Smite is a free to play multiplayer online battle arena where each player plays as a god from a different culture. Play as the more recognizable gods like Zeus or Loki, or cꦯhoose one you might not be as familiar with, like Cabrakan, The Mayan Destroyer of Mountains, or Ratatoskr, the Norse Sly Messenger.
This game has an incredible amount of creat💫ivity and a huge variety of characters to play as; it'll be a long time before you've mastere🌜d them all.
1 DAUNTLESS
Dauntless is a cross-platform free to play action RPG that is, at its heart, a simpler version of Monster Hunter more geared towards playing with friends, though you can certainly do that in either title. Dauntless is more geared towards action than Monster Hunter, and the gear/upgrade system is far simpler and doesn't require defeating the꧒ same behemoth/monster over and over again.
Dauntless has a pretty cool, simplistic art style, and is a pretty chill game to pick-up-and-play. It isn't overly complicated and can make for som♌e pretty fun gameplay sessions, even if you don't h✱ave a lot of time.
