With this generation winding down, it's a good a time as any to look back on the history. For example, with the Xbox One, many games were announced that never came out. What happened to them? Some were outright canceled, like Scalebound, while others remain a mystery.

This list will go through the earliest announcements all the way up until 2018. Talking about 2019 games seems a little too early to get worried. As an honorable mention, Halo: Infinite was announced at E3 2018, is supposed to come out this year, but there has yet to be real det🗹ails shown. Will it make the Xbox Series X's launch? What about these other games? Let's find out.

10 Agni’s Philosophy

This was first shown off at E3 2012. Agni’s Philosophy is technically a demo to showcase an engine, in this case the Luminous Engine. However, after this initia🦩l reveal Square Enix bro🌼ught it back at the PS4 reveal in 2013 and then again at E3 2015.

The demo was then renamed WITCH - Chapter 0 (cry). This may not turn into a game as most tech demos don’t, but it is suspicious for them to bring it around so ofte💎n. Some fans think this will lead into .

9 Psychonauts 2

After over a decade of fan outreach, Double Fine finally announced Psychonauts 2 at the Game Awards in 2015 as a kicks𓆉tarter project on Fig.

In 2019 Double Fine was then bought by Microsoft, but the game is still scheduled for multiple consoles supposedly this year. However, they’ve been saying that for the past couple 🐻years now so who knows.

8 Biomutant

Biomutant was unveiled in 2017 toward⛎ the end of the year. It’s being developed by Experiment 101, which will be their first game, and it will be published by THQ Nordic.

It looks sort of like The Witcher if it was crossed with a platformer game like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Jak and Daxter, or Ratchet and Clank. It’s been teased for the past couple years like Psychonauts 2, but still no solid date.

7 Session

The skateboarding genre, aside f❀rom a few indies, has all but dried up. That’s why this 2017 Kickstarter game gained so much press at the time. Its first big reveal with gameplay was at E3 2018.

Since then it entered Early Access on Steam in 2019 so technically it is out. As it was advertised on Xbox at that E3 though, itꦯ’s still not on consoles nor is it out officially. Some Early Access g🌞ames take years before they hit a 1.0 status.

6 Tunic

This was also first shown in 2017, or at least as Tunic it was. To boil it down this is an indie take on 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:The Legend of Zelda with a Fox as the star.

Prior to this, it was called Secret Legend which was first shown in 2015. Howe🌺ver, that game was more like the basic, NES original compared to its full blown 3D rebirth. This has been teased for 2020 but with no s🧸pecific date.

5 Starfield

2018 doesn’t seem that long ago, but when a game is teased with a vague CG trailer like Starfield without anything s💝hown since, well, it can feel like a millennia ago.

Part of the reason Bethesda has stayed dark on it and The Elder Scrolls VI is because they are still trying to fix Fallout 76. That must be the issue behi🤡nd this delay. At best it might be out by 2021.

4 Dragon Age 4

Bethesda’s Western RPG rival, BioWare, also teased their next project, Dragon Age 4, in 2018. This was done at the Game Awards with another vague trailer. In 2019 they launched Anthem and like Fallout 76, it had a disastrous launch.

Based on rumors their hands might be tied trying to reboot that game instead. For some more context the last game in the series, Inquisition, was a 2014 release.

3 Dying Light 2

Dying Light 2 was first unveiled at E3 🌳2018. Earlier this year the game was delayed indefinitely, which at first seemed bad as if it could be🐎 canceled. However, Techland has since come out and said work is progressing well.

The company has had someone ups and downs with other projects as well. For example, where is Hellraid and Dead Island 2? They started both of those games and they still aren’t out. In the case of Dead Island 2, it has since changed ꦕdevelopers three times now.

2 Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course

The DLC for this game was teased in 2018, but not much has come out since. For some context, the original Cuphead took a longtime to come out as well.

The original concept was shown in 2013 before the eventual full game released in 2017. Based on that trajectory this DLC may be out by 2022 and could even just be rebranded as Cuphead 2 sort of like how Hollow Knight’s DLC morphed into a full game aka Silksong.

1 Battletoads

This reboot was teased in 2018 very briefly before gameplay was shown the year follo🔥wing. It was also 🎉supposed to come out in 2019, but it obviously didn’t.

The last main Battletoads release, not counting ports or guest appearances, was the arcade game in 19💟94. Needless to say this brawler series has had fans waiting for awhile now.
