Microsoft has long wanted to make inroads selling Xbox game consoles in Japan, but it's been a tough journey. The first Xbox failed to make it beyond the half-million mark, and while the Xbox 360 topped 1.6 million units sold in Japan, sales have d🌊ropped off precipitously after the mid-2000s console generation.
A new report in Japan'🌊s Weekly Famitsu (via ) celebrated Xbox's 20th anniversary in Japan with some sales figures. In total, 2,345,975 Xbox consoles have been sold in Japan as of February 6, 2022. By far most of those were Xbox 360s, which outperformed the rest of the Xbox fami𓃲ly combined. We'll list the total Xbox sales below.

- Xbox One – 114,831
- Xbox Series X/S – 142,024
So what happened? Famitsu didn't say, but it might be that the Japanese became wary of Microsoft hardware after the Xbox 360 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:and its infamous Red Ring of Death. Or might be just that the PS4 was so absolutely dominant in Japan that Xbox One sales just didn't have a chance.
