On the latest episode of , Microsoဣft's Phil Spencer and ex-Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime sat down to discuss the future of the industry, and Spencer said that Microsoft should have 🅠enough Series X units ready for the end of the year.
"In our supply chain, we feel good about the hardware side. Feels like we'll be able to get enough units," Spencer noted. "And you know, we're pretty committed, as we've talked about💫 to a worldwide launch which, regretfully, we didn't do with Xbox One."
This assurance for console hardware also extends to the software side of Microsoft's business. Spencer feels that progressing is coming along nicely on new Xbox games and that gamers won't need to wait long for exciting new titles to emerge. That may not result in launch titles being exc🌠lusive, but ther🦄e should be a clear improvement on next-gen hardware over current-generation devices.
I'm not sure if we'll see the Series X or PlayStation 5 flying off of shelves this holiday season, but it is nice to know that Microsoft isn't anticipating any shortages. The wors🦹t thing about looking for a new console is seeing it sold out everywhere around you. No one likes scouring high and low to pay j𒆙acked-up prices on the latest hardware.
