However, there is another reason for Microsoft to partner up with Facebook Gaming, and that reason is xCloud. Project xCloud is Microsoft's way to stream games to almost any platform, and they want to bring it to Facebook. In an interview with The Verge, Microsoft Head of Gaming Phil Spencer talked about the partnership, saying, "it gives us a great place to launch more xCloud content and gives game💛rs the ability to play from there."

There is similar integration between Google Stadia and YouTube, so it makes sense for Microsoft to partner with a large platform like Facebook. Phil Spencer wants xCloud to reach as many🍌 people🤪 as possible.

"When we think about xCloud and the opportunity to unlock gameplay for 2 billion players," Spencer says, "we know it's going to be critically important that our services find large audiences and Facebook clearly gives us that opportunity." Two billion users is an ambitious goal. Stilꦐl, Microsoft has always had lofty goals regarding the future of the Xbox platform.

xCl🃏oud is scheduled to launch later this year. While Google Stadia has struggled since its launch, xCloud seems to be taking the right approach. xCloud will start with Game Pass so that xCloud users will have a plethora of games to stream from anywhere.
