Part of this experience is the unrelenting difficulty. New enemy types and familiar faces from past games will make sure this game isn't a breeze. While some returning aliens are just as tough as ever, a few new enemies have made combat more interesting and rival some of XCOM 2's roster. From psionically-gifted humans to armored Mutons, here are the 10 hardest enemies you will face in XCOM: Chimera Squad. This article contains gameplay spoilers for XCOM: Chimera Squad.

10 Hitman

No matter the faction you are currently investigating, there's a high chance you've stumbled across a Hitman. These enemies deal little damage and focus on disabling your 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Agent's ability to attack.

Weapon-disabling shots are the Hitman's specialty, forcing your Agent to reload if it lands. They typically sit in the back o🍬f a room and use Overwatch to catch any Agent on the move. Their lack of damage and hitpoints make them easy to deal with, but their ability to force a reload or action to counter their Overwatch makes them tricky amid a large skirmish.

9 Cobra

Cobras are a twisted take on the Vipers♛ , trading their tongue grab ability for rooting poison that pre🧔vents Agents from moving.

They fulfill the same role as Vipers do in Chimera Squad's sandbox, but their⛄ improved health and damage output compared to Vipers make them a force to be reckoned with. Cobras can poison your entire squad in the first turn if you aren't careful, and they can sabotage rescue missions with their rooting spit.

8 Dominator

If your squad can do anything in Chimera Squad, it's likely the enemy can do the same. Dominators are Gray Phoenix's take on Verge's abilities, manipulating the minds of🍒 your Agents to his advantage.

Dominators can stun Age🌄nts with their Psi Disable power and even mind control your team. Killing them cancels this effect, but having a friendly Agent mind-controlled for just one turn can result in a dead squad. Flashbangs come in handy against these 𒀰enemies as well, disabling their psionic effects and dazing them.

7 MEC

MECs are functionally identical to their XCOM 2 appearance, equipped with a powerful rifle and mounted grenade launcher. With Chimera Squad's cha💞nges to mechanics, MECs are stronger tha🎃n ever.

Their armor is tough to bypass in the earlier levels 168澳洲幸运5开🍌奖网:since explosives and armor-shredding abilities are much less common early-game. MECs are also the only enemy in Chimera Squad that can launch and detonate grenades simultaneously, destroying cover and shredding🌟 your Agent's armor in the process. On higher difficulties, MECs can use Pin Down to reduce your Agen🐼t's turn priority at well. Do not underestimate the MECs in this game.

6 Sorcerer

The Progeny have the strongest psionically capable units in Chimera Squad with the Sorcerer being the strongest. Thi🐼s unit has a l🌊arge range of tricks up her sleeve from granting free actions to dealing damage in a line.

Characters like Verge will have a hard time fighting the Sorcerer, as s👍he is immune to all mental effects including weapon disables. During her turn, the Sorcerer will frequently teleport across the arena and either damage the squad🔯 or manipulate an enemy to her will. This can range from a free action to making that target a meat shield.

5 ౠ Necromancer

Psionics in XCOM involve more than just mental domination. Various enemies in the series could resurrect their dead allies. XCOM: Chimera Squad's Necromancer carries this trait.

With a moderate he꧅alth pool and an obsession with corpses, Necromancers can turn easy encounters on their head with a few actions. These Progeny enemies can resurrect the dead as zombies and create spectral figures that explode. When these enemies enter the fray, they become a top priority.

4 Andromedon 🐽 ♏

One of XCOM 2's hardest enemies has made a return in Chimera Squad. Andromedons 🅺deal high damage bot✃h at range and up close, effectively having two health bars to bypass before they are truly dead.

A dead Andromedon leaves be✤hind its mechanical suit, reawakening and punching anything in its path. You can bypass this by knocking the Andromedon unconscious before its first health bar drops to zero, but this can be tricky to do in some situations. If your Agents clump up too close, the Andromedon can also fire an Acidic projectile that instantly detonates, dealing a large amount of damage over time in a small area.

3 ꦬ Praetorian

Mutons are one of the deadliest and most iconic aliens in the XCOM series, combining muscle mass and deadly 🙈alien technology into a devastಞating unit.

XCOM: Chimera Squad has done it again by giving Mutons parts of Gray Pho𒐪enix reactive armor. These Praetorian enemies gain armor every time they get hit while also buffing ally armor on their turn. Worse, they can duel an Agent to make every attack they dish out hit. Conversely, all of your attacks hit, so make sure whoever gets focused takes down the Praetorian before they dish out serious damage.

2 Acolyte

For a fodder-tier enemy, Acolytes are one of XCOM: Chimera Squads dea🥀dliest enemies. Capable of dealing guaranteed psionic damage every turn, this is an enemy you don't want to ignore.

Their actions consist of dealing guaranteed 🥀psionic damage with Soulfire or levitating an Agent in the air. If the Acolyte is not stunned or killed quickly, the Agent levitated takes a large amouꦿnt of damage after being thrown onto the ground. One Acolyte is easy to deal with, but dealing with three or more at a time becomes a recipe for disaster if not quickly killed.

1 Ronin

Taking a few lessons from Templars in XCOM 2: War of the Chosen, Ronins are assassins that Sacred Coil will 𒀰frequently use towards the end of their investigation.

These enemies can deal large amounts of damage wi꧙th their melee attacks, then immediately duck away into cover. Ronins can also gain 2 free actions with Tempo Surge, dodge the first Overwatch shot directed at them per turn, and even damage any Agent that gets up close while in Melee Stance.🔥 If you need to focus on any enemy during Breaches or the first turn, Ronins should be at the top of that priority list.
