We've said it before in other Hero guides for 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Xenoblade Chronicles 3, but there's a shift in approach between different classes. Some fit the role they're set to (Attacker, Defender, or Healer) like a glove. Others shake things up, coming across as more of a hybridization between two roles.
Lost Vanguard, the Hero Monica's class, belongs in the former camp. It is a Defender, through and through, and it's perfect if you're looking to spruce things up for a guy like Lanz. Here's how to earn it, with Monica in tandem, and what makes it one of the truest-to-form classes in the game.
What Is The Lost Vanguard Class?
If there's a stout and steadfast Defender class with few frills and a heroic performance, it's ether Noah's starting class, or it's Lost Vanguard. And for our proverbial two cents, Lost Vanguard's the winner of the pair.
We don't like to fixate on the in-game letter rankings often since they can be misleading at times. But in this case, it feels quite apt — consider that Lost Vanguard is rated 'C', 'S', 'B', and 'A', in the areas of Attack, Defense, Health, and Support, respectively. If we're being harsh, that 'B' could stand to get bumped up, sure; by that same token, though, multiple Defender-oriented classes have low HP as a tradeoff for something else, so that's really not so bad.
The nice thing about Defense having the highest ranking is self-explanatory, we should think, but the nice thing about Support having an 'A' is that you're going to see that play out with Class Skills like 'Never Again', which factors a 20 percent chance per enemy attack to absorb those attacks from any allies within range.
Playing that out for a sec, consider how many Unique Monsters and boss fights revolve around periodic area-of-effect attacks like fire-breathing and ballista. Monica's AI generally seems to stick close to the team, so there are no worries there; she'll soak at least one in five of those hits. If you're having someone else play Lost Vanguard, just make sure they do the same.
How To Unlock The Vanguard Class
Several Heroes in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 are unlocked automatically over the course of the story. While Monica is not unlocked automatically, picking up her recruitment quest is quite easy.
During the events of Chapter Five, the party will be put through their paces, to say the least. But in due time, things will look up for a change. You'll likely know what we mean without spoilers, but to provide enough context to, well, justify a guide on the matter, you will be able to begin the quest at any point after the conversation with Monica in the War Room.
Venture around City. When you find the NPC whose yellowed-background text (which denotes topics to scoop up) starts with 'I joined the Lost Numbers in the hopes of becoming as fine a man as Guernica', you will be in business𒐪. Head to a Rest Spot and discuss this with the party.
Now follow the quest prompts for 'Vandham's Heir', Monica's recruitment quest. You will be collecting three items; all of these are marked on the map for you. Afterward, travel to the Remembrance Stones. Congratulations, Monica and the Lost Vanguard are now yours!
