But the game was originally going to be titled "Monado" after the eponymous sword in question. It's a pretty central part of the series, being the Xenoblade and all. And as such, it functions quite differently from every other weapon, granting visions of the future and having a pool of arts in its talent gauge, and some better than others.

8 Enchant

Xenoblade Chronicles Shulk and Sharla

When the Monado is first acquired it comes with two abilities, Monado Enchant being one of them. It's relatively simple but also essential in the early game. Though the Monado by its nature can damage Mechon, no one else can. As such, Enchant allows the whole party to damage Mechon, and deal increased damage to them too.

The thing is, that is its only real use. And later in the game, the party can acquire weapons that allow them to damage Mechon by default, pushing Enchant's usefulness way down. It still comes with a hefty damage increase, but it can be hard to prioritize over other Monado arts.

7 Speed

Monado Speed is also learned relatively early in the game and can be pretty useful for a while. When used, it allows one party member to be granted a massively increased ability to evade physical attacks. This can actually make it incredibly useful for taking on enemies above your level seeing as you'll dodge most of their attacks.

As it goes on though, it starts to lose effectiveness. It only lasts a short whil💟e, and can only gain an extra four seconds of up-time after being fully upgraded. Plus, ♊with effective use of gems and other Monado arts, it quickly drops off as the party themselves become more specialized.

6 Eater

Shulk And Melia From Xenoblade Chronicles

Monado Eater is an interesting attack. It's acquired quite late in the game, likely being the final Monado art you acquire, and the final attack one as well. It sounds very useful on paper, dealing high ether damage, removing buffs from enemies, and dealing heavy bleed damage over time.

However, Shulk naturally has higher strength than ether, meaning you'll likely try to maximize strength rather than balance it with a boosted ether. On top of that, it has quite a long animation before it's executed, taking Shulk out of the battle for an extended time. It's still useful in the right situation, it's just not one you can continually rely on.

5 Shield

Monado Shield functions a bit differently than many others. When used, 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:the entire party gains a shield that allows each member to protect themselves against one enemy Talent Art. But leveling it up increa♔ses which arts you can shield yourself against, rather than𓃲 how many or for longer. The arts blocked by Shield are those of the same level and lower of the art itself.

This is a skill that is once again incredibly situational. On one hand, it can completely nullify any single Talent art and any additional effects, but only once. Shield also only needs to be leveled to match the average level of the arts you're up against, so you gain no benefits from boosting it early.

4 Buster

The second of the two arts the Monado originally comes with is Monado Buster,▨ and this is one that actually holds up its effectiveness throughout most of the game. When used, the blade of the Monado grows and allows enemies to be hit along the entire length of the blade, while also dealing double damage to Mechon.

It's a relatively simple, no-frills attack. Every additional level grants it higher damage, and the length of the attacks can be very useful considering the importance of positioning for many of Shulk's own arts anyway. It loses out against other arts while facing a single powerful enemy, but holds up otherwise.

3 Purge

Monado Purge succeeds in many of the areas where Monado Eater falls short. Both scale off Shulk's Ether stat, but Purge also nullifies and cancels enemy auras, while also disabling any spike effects they may have. The damage is a nice touch on top, but the aura seal and spike nullification are where it shines.

And unlike other arts of similar effect, leveling up Purge increases its damage while also increasing the length of time in which an enemy's aura effects are sealed. So while it may not be a priority for Shulk in terms of damage dealing, it does allow him to cut off some dangerous aspects of an enemy regardless of his ether strength.

2 Cyclone

Monado Cyclone is quite a powerful art for Shulk. A 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:🃏central aspect of Xenoblade Chronicles is the subsequent stacking of status effects, such as break to topple to daze. And with Monado Cyclone, Shulk can inflict topple on every broken enemy near him. This is strong enough by it🍬self, but also means Shulk can perform a full break-topple-daze combo by himself.

Though Cyclone doesn't quite hit the same levels of damage as Buster, the fact that it can hit in a wider cone rather than a single line can make it more useful while surrounded - and of course also has the added benefit of great damage on top of the ability to topple enemies, becoming even more effective when used as part of a chain attack.

1 Armour

Super Smash Bros Xenoblade Shulk Monado Blade Attack

By many Monado Armour is seen as the strongest and quite simply best Monado Art. And yeah, it kinda is. Many Monado arts can deal in degrees of prevention. Shield can nullify an art, Speed helps you avoid being hit, and so on. But Monado Armour quite simply gives the whole party armour to reduce all damage taken - b꧟oth physical and ether damage.

Though the ability starts at the still impressive 30 percent damage reduction, it can be increased to a whopping 75 percent reduction to all damage received. It's hard to overstate how simply incredible of an effect that is. Plus, its acquisition isn't even that hard (though comes somewhat late in the game), and leveling to the max has instant, massive benefit.
