Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition will be released Friday, May 29, and by most accounts, it is a faithfully remastered version of classic Wii JRPG. Howevꦚer, while the game may be a tad diffi🅺cult (and then some) for players new to the game or genre, returning players or JRPG masters may be looking for a bit more of a challenge. Thanks to the game's Expert mode, there's a way to see that through.
As indicated beꦉfore, the game's default setting should be adjusted for newcomers, though the most ambitious among them will undeniably seek out the Expert mode. In order to change to Expert mode, simply press the "X" button to summon the game's menu and select Expert Mode. You can turn the mode on or off by 🍬pressing "R3."
With Expert mode, there comes a few caveats to your adventure. First and foremost, experience points won't be gained upon the discovery of new landmarks. Rather, they are limited to battles and defeat of enemies. To put this in perspective, you may lose out on quite a bit of experience points given the vast amount of themಌ that can be gained by traversing the game's world.
Further, from the Expert Mode menu, the d-pad can be used to enhance or de🔥crease character levels. Of course, you can only go as high as how much experience the character has gained. However, the most daring of gamers can intentionally keep character levels relatively low for a mightier challenge.
For newcomers, or returning players, who prefer a more brisk experience, there is a Casual mode that can be selected. This mode can also be selected by Expert Mode players seeking a break from the punishment inflicted by Expert Mode. Casual ﷽mode will help to ease the difficulty of battles for players struggling with some of the game's tougher enemies.
And the game has an unquestionable difficulty spike near the end, and it also💙 features some brutal locations. So the Casual mode may be a necessity for the under-l♋eveled. However, be sure to level up appropriately, as that can surely alleviate some of the difficulty found in later battles.
