Twitch's streaming monopoly looked pretty secure for a while after Mixer shut down. That monopoly has come under threat ever since YouTube started making big moves to secure a footing in the streaming space. Big names like DrLupo and 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:TimTheTatMan have already signed exclusive deals with YouTube, and it looks like 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:more might soon follow. Twitch really needs to up its game if it wants to keep its perch, and our old friend xQc has a controversial theory on how it's going to do that.

Twitch has recently lifted bans on a number of popular 🐼streamers that were supposed to remain banned indefinitely, Velvet_7 and Axium for example. According to xQc, Twitch has been doing so in order to bring back some big names to balance out for the ones that are leaving.

“There’s been something going on. I♓ feel like YouTube is making a push, and apparently, Twitch is being stubborn. YouTube is buying out more streamers to go to their platform, and it seems like Twitch is firing back by unbanning previously banned streamers,” said xQc during one of his recent streams.

“Listen, don’t get mad at me, it’s just an idea that I had. What I noticed is that a lot of people who were banned before are getting unbanned. And nobody got unbanned for a while now, right? In the last month, there’s been a crazy amount, like🍎 six? Seven?&rdqu🅺o; (thanks, ).

While he does have a point about Twitch unbanning a number of streamers, xQc's theory of it being to combat YouTube is debatable. There could be plenty of reasons why these streamers got their bans lifted, the most likely being that some execs just had a review meeting and decided that they learnt their lesson.

YouTube's push into the streaming space is at a juggenautian pace though. The recent 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Twitch hack didn't help things either. 128 GB worth of data was stolen and made public, fortunately the streaming platform has said that there has been "no indication that login credentials have been exposed." The hack has understandably made content creators nervous, with some even 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:urging their peers to move to YouTube.
