Throughout the series, there is no shortage of good villains. From meathead enemies who are so cool you can’t look away to cold and calculated leaders, there’s something for everyone.
Every villain has its own strengths and weaknesses, but this group delivers a fantastic experience despite the latter. These villains often perform many evil actions, even if some of them are driven by genuine and complex motives. They’re also often major fights in the story, if not the final bosses in their respective games. Sorry, Majima (and all of his fans), you won’t 💞be on this list; If you were, you’d be at the top.
7 🅰 ♚ Ryuji Goda
Ryuji is known as the Dragon of Kansaꦑi and is destined to clash with the Dragon of Dojima in Yakuza 2 (or Kiwami 2). He has his own unique sense of justice and morals, giving some layers to his otherwise ruthless nature.
Let’s be honest, though, you probably think Ryuji is unnecessarily cool. He’s a bonehead but in the very best way. He’s selfless and goes about everything in a straightforward, strength-oriented manner. He doesn’t like underhanded tricks or gains satisfaction from unfair victories. Plus, he ties into the plot twists and story of Kiwami 2 pretty n🤡icely.
6 Daisaku Kuze ♈
Kuze is a stubborn and reluctant lieutenant of the Dojima Family during ಌthe events of Yakuza 0. He stands out for his numerous fights with Kiryu and a strong sense of honor. He doesn’t feel alright preying on the weak 🔯and instead chooses to fight those who can challenge him, shown as he scolds his henchmen for taking joy in beating their hostage.

5 Keiji Shibusawa 💮
How far can a good final boss fight carry you🍌? About this far, and that’s pretty good. It’s only fair to give credit to Shibusawa for having a spectacular boss fight but there’s still some more to him. Although he’s not the main antagonist for Yakuza 0, Shibusawa makes sure to stand out in a game that is packed with many antagonists and enemies.
Keiji Shibusawa is manipulative and does what it takes t🐼o get the results that he wants. He’s cruel, cold, and thinks that he has what it takes to make it to the top. Shibusawa will use anybody and everybody at his disposal to get what he desires, with his rational mindset making sure he never gets too impatient. He’s not the kind to boast and showcase his power, he’𓂃s perfectly fine with keeping it lowkey and operating from the shadows.
4 𝔍 Takumi Someya 𒐪
Someya fights Kiryu multiple times throughout Yakuza 6 and it never disappoints. However, Yakuza is full of great boss fights, so what makes Someya so good? Throughout Yakuza 6, Someya has♛ a web of relationships with 🌄other characters that flesh him out and make him feel a bit more real.
Someya doesn’t just exist to fight Kiryu, he has his own goals and motives. Someya doesn't exist merely to be a villain or because he has an innate desire to fight. His sacrifice for his Kasahara is also heartwarming and the events that follow are just as tragic.
3 🅷 Tsuneo Iwami ♔

Mine is the main antagonist of Yakuza 3 and the interim chairman during Daigo’s absence. Yoshitaka Mine has a cold and calculating personality that’s entertaining to watch ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚthroughout the game. His ideology clashes with that of Kiryu, as he believes that one should gain strength on their own with no outside help.
Mine's harsh and cynical nature is brought into question when his devotion to Daigo is displayed. He deeply respects Daigo’s kind and generous nature. After Daigo’s assassination attempt, everything shatters for Mine and he turns for the worse.

Akira Nishikiyama deals with feelings of inferiority, standing in the shadows of his oath brother, Kiryu. Through a series of tragedies and constant reminders that he’s not as good as Kiryu, Nishikiyama struggles to control hi🧸s emotions and changes for the worse.
It’s completely poss𓃲ible that you don’t consider Nishikiyama a villain. Although his actions are definitely vill🎃ainous, his motives and attitude draw sympathy from many fans of the series. This isn’t just because of his design or a spur-of-the-moment decision by fans, Nishikiyama is presented in a way that garners sympathy. Flashbacks show how he changed and put together pieces of a puzzle as you’re left wondering how someone so compassionate and loyal turned into a villain who resents his own brother.
