We see this firsthand in Haruka's Yakuza 6 appearance, where she almost dies in order to protect her son. When a car is ꦏblaring towards her, she moves her body to protect it even if it meant dying. This does put her into a coma, but it shows that Kiryu's personality traits have rubbed off on her.
