As is customary with the Yakuza franchise,168澳洲幸运5开奖网: Yakuza: Like A Dragon is chock-full of minigames. There are over a dozen delightful distractions to engage with. Some of these are off the beaten path, and others have been incorporated into the story itself. While your mileage may vary, we refuse to believe that you won't be ensorcelled by at least one of these bite-size experiences.
There is an excellent variety on display. Some of the best diversions will be familiar to long-time Yakuza fans, but others are completely new to the franchise. And, delightfully, some of those new experiences get genuinely pretty weird. And hey, if you are playing a Yakuza game, you are probably happy to he🥂ar tꦦhat.
Updated August 10, 2022 by James Kennedy: Since the release of Yakuza: Like A Dragon, the game has had quite the journey. It was originally met with a little trepidation by some of the stalwart Yakuza fans. However, over time its undeniable charm, and boundless energy, have largely won over the established fanbase. It has since started popping up on the different premium services as well. First, it made an appearance on the Xbox Game Pass, and now it is making its way to PlayStation Plus. So, there has never been a better time to update a list that deals with one of the most endearing qualities found in this series: the deluge of personable minigames!
11 Ounabara Vocational School🥀
There are tests that can be taken at the Ounabara Vocational School168澳洲幸运5开奖网: which will increase ꧂Ichiban’s stats. Taking a quiz about fashion can up his Style stat, as an example. Every quiz has only five questions; so, they’r🦋e pretty breezy, and not particularly challenging.
These quizzes are not the most substantial minigames in Like A Dragon, but because they are so incredibly important for powering up Ichiban they are, at the very least, worth mentioning. Also, and maybe this is just us, but taking quizzes can be fun! Surely we're not the only ones to think that, right?
10 The Batting Cage ᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚᩚ𒀱ᩚᩚᩚ
Look, it is just wrong to not mention the batting cage. This is a minigame that has been in every damn Yakuza game. Has it changed over the years? Sure. A little. So, what is the goal? Well, you need to hit targets that are on✨ the back wall. In order to hit the ball, you have to hover your cursor over the correct section of ﷽a 3x3 grid and time the bat swing with the ball crossing the plate. As you progress, you will get more difficult pitches to hit.
Is this the best minigame in the Yakuza series? Probably not. Do we still come back for⭕ more every damn time? Absolutely. There is something in the simplicity of the batting game that can be downright hypnotic. The Batting Cage is a classic minigame for a reason!
9 ♛ Fantasy Zone
This isn't the first time Fantasy Zone has been present in a Yakuza game. This is another one of those classic Sega arcade games that Yakuza is so famous for. And, of course, all of these games are bangers. The arcades in the Yakuza series are all about celebrating the best of the best arcade titles.
Fantasy Zone is among one of the best Shmups to have ever done it. You can travel to the left or to the right in a stage, which gives it a little more freedom than most games in the genre. It also allows you to purchase upgrades by using your collected coins. Oh, and it has an absolutely adorable look. Fantasy Zone isn't as famous as some of the other games you can play in the arcade, but it 𒁃is still an absolute blast. Give it a shot!
8 🌞 Seagull Cinema 𝓰
Some of the minigames in this game seem to exist purely to 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:add flavor to Like A Dragon, and that is never more true than with the delightful Seagull Cinema Whenever Ichiban decides to watch a movie, he has to battle off sheep-men who are doing everything in their power to lull Ichiban to sleep.
Not only is this charismatic minigame utterly charming, but it also works as a callback to another Sega title: Catherine. It isn't the most substantial minigame in Like A Dragon, but it is a memorable, and delightful, diversion.
7 Shogi
All the killer gambling games are back for another go-around in Like A Dragon. And while Mahjong is clearly one of the heavier hitters, we gotta give the nod to Shogi for this list. If youꦜ have been spending your time in the Yakuza world avoiding Shogi, we beg you to reconsider. Imagine chess, but a version of chess where you can level up your pieces to unlock additional abilities.
How is that not super badass? Yeah, sure, Chess kinda has that, but it is way more prominent in Shogi and different pieces upgrade differently. And hey, if you don't want to play the traditional game, there are other options like Puzzle Shogi as well. Don't sleep on Shogi; Shogi is unquestionably awesome.
6 Golf
One of our favorite returning minigames is Yakuza 6's Golf. For those unfamiliar, this version of golf isn't set on a course (though Yakuza 3 did have a golf minigame like that), instead you will be playing one of two golf-based games. The first has you trying to get as close to the hole as possible. The closer you are to the hole, the more points you rake in. And, of course, getting it in the hole will absolutely give you the best point yield. While this version of golf starts off relatively basic, it eventually becomes something of an obstacle course.
The other mode is called "bingo", and here you need to hit all the targets. As you progress, the targ⭕ets will start to move from left to right. Both of these golf minigames make for an excellent distraction. Honestly, given how much fun these are, and how much we all love the batting cage, we hope to see another sport represented this way in the next title.
5 Virtua Fighter 5
While there are a number of clas🌊sic arcade games available, one of the best is easily Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown. This game first appeared in Yakuza 6 and, thankfully, it has carried over into Yakuza: Like A Dragon. For those unfamiliar, Virtua Fighter 5 is heralded as being one of the premier 3D fighting games. To this day, many hold it up as being t🔴he best game of its kind.
While you won't be able to play through the world tour mode in this version of Virtua Fighter 5, and you won't be able to dress your character up, it is still stunningly cool that this game was included at all. If you aren't familiar with the series, we strongly recommend you give this classic arcade game a go. And hey, if you are looking to do a real deep dive, Virtua Fighter ✃2 is kicking around as well.
4 Karaoke
Eventually, the ever-popular karaoke minigame will open up as part of the Survive Bar. Singing with teammates will help strengthen their bonds. There aren’t that many songs available, and the rhythm section of the gameplay is a bit on the basic ♔side, but the presentation is absoluꩲtely top-notch.
As limited as the song selection may be, what is here is a riot and stays true to pa🎃st karaoke minigames from the previous titles in the franchisꦇe. Until we get a full-blown karaoke spinoff game, this will have to do. Sega, talk to Harmonix and set this thing up already!
3 Can Quest
Can Quest is actually one of the first minigames that unlocks in Yak🐎uza: Like A Dragon. It is basically Pac-Man set in the world of Yakuza. In Can Quest, Ichiban rides a bike and collects cans while navigating a maze-like course. Other bikers are trying to collect cans as well, so you will be directly competing for this valuable resource.
Looking down at the mini-map makes this comparison to Pac-Man even more obvious, 𒁏as cans are r🐭epresented by pellets. If you have ever wondered♕♍ what an official Yakuza and Pac-Man crossover would look like, then Can Quest is your answer.
2 Dragon Kart
If the name didn't give it away, Dragon Kart is a unique spin on everyone's favorite kart racing title: 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Mario Kart. Once unlocked, this amazing diversion can be played from the main menu. It has 168澳洲幸运5开奖网:everything one would want from🔯 a Mario Kart clone includin🍃g incredible abilities and endless amounts of charಌm.
We miss the era of endless spinoff kart racing titles; so, Yakuza getting their own is a dream come true. It may not have the course variety of a standalone Ka💯rt racer, and it lacks a little polish in spots, but make no mistake about it, Dragon Kart is a good time!
