168澳洲幸运5开奖网:Yakuza: Like a Dragon might sound like something that’s a spin-off title in the Yakuza line of games, but it isn’t. No, to be more technical this game is Yakuza 7, and the first game where Kazuma Kiryu isn’t the main characte♊r. Instead, Kasuga Ichiban is the protagonist, and he’s a very different sort of dork than Kiryu was.
That said, while this game is relatively disconnected narratively to the rest of the series, there are still a whole mountain of callbacks hidden throughout the game. So, for those of you who missed them, or for those who are new to the franchise, here are references in Like a Dragon you likely missed. Keep in mind though,168澳洲幸运5开奖网: the whole franchise is on Game Pass, so there's never been a better time to check them alღl out!
Disclaimer: This will talk about some spoilers from past Yakuza games, and the last two entries spoil a secret returning character, be warned.
10 The Entirety Of The Survive Bar And Bartender ♊ ♛
First and foremost we’ve got to talk about the owner of the Survive Bar, right? That’s obviously Kashiwashi, a friend of Kiryu, Captain of the Kazama Family, and eventual second Patriarch of the Tojo clan. But, due to the events of Yakuza 3, Kashiwagi gets mercilessly mowed down by a literal Gatling Gun and is fatally wounded. Yet, he here is, serving drinks in a bar in Like a Dragon. What an odd way for long-time fans of the franchise to find out that he somehow lived. The least they could do is give the guy his own Karaoke song where he s♔ings about his brush wit🌊h death.
9 🍒 The Legacy Of Yakuza Prota💦gs Fighting Tigers
About halfway through Like a Dragon, Ichiban and his rag-tag gang of pals end up saving the Liumang’s commander, Zhao, who is a soon-to-be member of Ichiban's squad168澳洲幸运5开奖网: and a real snazzy dresser. During this rescue, they somehow end up having to fight a full-on tiger. Now, there’s a reason this was a tiger and not a lion or some other animal. Turns♔ out the Yakuza series has a real history with tigers. We’re specifically talking about the moment in Yakuza 2 and/or Kiwami 2 where Kiryu ends up fighting two tigers and literally punches one so hard in the skull it flies across the room.
8 Shin Amon And The Amon Clan 🌠 🃏
For those who made it all the way to the top of the Millennium Tower (the second time) in Yakuza Like a Dragon, first of all, congratulations! Second, y💞ou might be wondering who that boss at the end named Shin Amon was and what he has to do with the plotline of Yakuza as a whole. Well, the Amon Clan are a band of assassins who have shown up in the Yakuza series many times in the past, almost always as optional super-bosses. It’s almost always a different Amon and each one has there own style. From Jo to Kazuya then to Jiro, Sango, Noa, So, and finally Shin Amon in Yakuza: LaD.
7 Adachi’s Story 🎀About A Lunatic Wrecking The Shangri-La 🔥
Ichiban’s backstory is a little different than what you might’ve been expecting. Basically, the guy was abandoned in a coin locker as a baby, and the ones who found him were the owner of what amounts to a brothel called the Shangri-L🥀a. So, Kasuga grew up in an incredibly 🐓unique environment. That said, the Shangri-La is closed down and in disrepair when Ichiban visits it after 15 years of jail time, why is that?
Well, Adachi hints at it a bit by briefly talking about some “maniac” who crashed a truck into it years ago. Now, this is actually referencing an event from the first Kiwami game, in which Goro Majima (168澳洲幸运5开奖网:one of the stron😼gest Tojo-clan members) crashes a literal dump truck through the front door in o🀅rder to trap Kiryu inside. Turns out the building never recovered.
6 Is Lau Ka Long Actually Ch🤪au Ka Long? ꧂
Every Yakuza game has a gambling den. Well, the gambling den in Like a Dragon is in the sewers. And, right outside of it is a guy named Lau 💜Ka Long. He’s some mysterious guy that sells rare weapons with a big scar on his face who seems to have some tragic past. Well, that past actually has a lot to do with Kiryu, as it turns out Lau Ka Long is a fake name, and this is actually Chau Ka Long. For those who might not know or don’t remember, Chau Ka Long was the head of the Snake Flower Triad who was a boss fight in Kiwami. He reappears as another boss fight i⛦n Yakuza 3, only to get fatally shot. But, just like Kashiwagi, he survived.
5 The Yakuza Clan Of Man B♔abies Are...Returning Characters? 🔴
One of 𓃲the first (and best) side stories avail🍌able in Like a Dragon is an incredibly odd one called “Baby Don’t Cry.” This involves Kasuga stumbling upon a man having marital troubles and difficulties as a new parent. Eventually, they end up stumbling upon what appears to be...a group of grown men dressed like babies being “taken care of༺” by their “mother.” This is the Gondawara Family, and they’re actually a clan of Yakuza members that have shown up before in the first Kiwami game. In their first appearance, Susumu, their Patriarch, tries to get Kiryu to enjoy their “hobby” along with them, just like he tries to do with Ichiban. Neither attempt works well, as it turns out.
4 🐈 Omelette Isn’t The Only Yakuza Chicken Around
The Ichiban Confections Side Story is one of vital importance if you plan to spend a lot of time with Yakuza Like A Dragon. It's how you cღome into contact with Eri, her grandmother, and their pet chicken Omelet. But, this chicken with a fowl-based name and a really fantastic work ethic is actually a reference to another chicken in the franchise ♏named Nugget. In Yakuza 0, you can “win” a chicken named Nugget at the bowling alley, and eventually hire it to work for your Real Estate Company, just like Omelet works for Ichiban Confections.
3 Gary Buster Holmes I🍸sn’t A New Character ꦓ
Out of all the returning side characters on this list, Gary “Buster” Holmes might be the one who has shown up in the most mainline games. This man was known as the “Champ🎉ion” of the Coliseum until Kiryu shows up, and you end up fighting against him in almost every single Yakuza game.
In fact, this is the first time where he shows up not as a rival, but as a friend. And what’s even better is after all this tiဣme, the guy still has terrible Japanese.
2 Kiryu’s Poundmates Summons And🔯 The References Within It
We made sure to warn you guys, but yes, Kiryu does show up in Like a Dragon. Quite honestly, he’s around a little too much for someone who is supposed to be “passing the torch” to Ichiban. But, in any case, Ichiban ends up “fighting” Kiryu at a certain point in the story and becomes a summonable Poundmate. Now, there are a variety of amazing references to Kiryu’s legacy in this𒐪 summon animation. But, the most subtle reference is the kick at the end of this combo, as it turns out to be a 1-to-1 recreation of the kick 🐼they used on the cover for the very first Yakuza game.
1 Kiryu Won’t Fight Women 🌠
The battle against the Dragon of Dojima isn’t exactly 1-on-1, Ichiban uses his whole party. But, did you know that Kiryu won’t actually hit either Eri or Saeko if they’re in the active party? The guy is old-fashioned, and he has a real policy against hitting women. It’s no joke! In fact, it's the reason why the creator (168澳洲幸运5开奖网:and ex-CCO of Sega) of the Yakuza series, Toshihiro Nagoshi, is hesitant about featuring Kiryu as a guest in any other fighting games. In any case, he absolutely won’t attack these two, which actually makes his insanely difficult fight more possible. Say what you will about Like A Dragon's combat, but there are a ton of people ꧅who hate t🤡he combat in the old games as well.
